Anyone watch the match between Ali Carter and Judd Trump. ?

Is there really any need to behave like that. The amount of fist pumping Ali did just emphasis my point. I know he happy but show some class and professionalism for heavens sake. Disrespecting your opponent like that seems to be the norm. Hendry, Davis, Murphy, Williams etc managed to learn manners why wont the other players?

Carter is just one of the many that behave like this.

However, on the other hand Trump did tell Carter that he had not left a free ball in the deciding frame i believe. He did not have to, but he could see that Carter was worried.

I didn't see the Carter match, but I don't like to see the "arm pumping".
Players are generally well behaved, and,as an avid snooker follower,I like to see good sportsmanship,at all times.
There are some terrific young players around, and I am very impressed with Jamie Jones.
I rather fancy he could emulate Terry Griffiths, and win the tournament at his first attempt.

I agree with the first poster but i have to make a point... Carter has not been in the best of health for nearly 10 years now, he has had crohns disease, and he feared that his snooker days were behind him. He was seriously thinking of giviong up the game of snooker because of this, and having slipped down the rankings couldnt see an alternative. Im so pleased for him as it obviously meant a lot to him, and i think he really thought that the lead and Trump needing 4 snookers was enough. Oh how that nearly came back to bite him...!!!

It wasnt the greatly exaggerated fist pump that i have seen before, Ebdon when he first came onto the scene was so intense he nearly leapt through the roof when he defeated Steve Davis once, but yes i do agree snooker dos have written and un-written code of conduct...

In a high pressure game like this you will get moments like that and i for one think its great to see the emotion of the player as after all they will be churning away inside but have to keep a poker face on the outside...

Snooker players do show a lot of dignity in how they play the game and i wouldnt get to upset about a little fist pump...

It not the actual fist pump itself because it can be used to express emotion or let out a tension or pressure.

However when Carter did it, it was very vicious and was done in a very aggressive manner. I just think he a angry .... that hopefully will be put in his place. I dont follow Trump and dont particular like him as does a lot of brash things that could been seen as being disrespectful or upsetting. however it a complete joke for someone like Carter to talk about etiquette when he probably worst hypocrite in the circuit .

I read about his condition and can sympathize he did a lot to just play snooker, but he really is bitter little man.
