Newcastle have announced the signing of defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa from Montpellier for an undisclosed fee
And Yoan Gouffran confirmed on twitter he joins tomorrow. 3 great signings in a day. Max, shouldn't that be Big Bhoys?
Lennon has confirmed that they have rejected a 2nd bid from us and he has turned down another contract... I would put my money on them wanting a bidding war with how there putting this out there. AVB was at parkhead tonight too. I think were better off stepping away from this and focus on someone else cos we are wasting valuable time.
I heard AVB and Fergie sat next to eachother lol I guess Hooper and that Wanayama (?) are on the radar. Spurs concerns me more than ManU but I really can't see AVB buying someone like Hooper, surely? He's English and not remotely poncey. Most strange...
its a no win, we are being perceived as being desperate and with hooper banging them in every game the price is getting distorted the longer this gets played out. we should and probably have been already looking else where...
...and to be fair we probably are. I agree that we should be looking elsewere, and I'm sure there is a lot of work going on at the club. Patience people, there is nine days left to go and we have no league game between now and the end of the window so I'd rather us bide our time and get the right man at the right price rather than trying to do a deal in a hurry and end up paying over the odds. We don't know the half of what is really going on, and this world we live in now with internet rumours and twitter feeds round the clock just feed people's impatience so this isn't a pop at anyone in particular, more the society that has turned us into such blood-thirsty information whores that we have become. I'm sure there is plenty of stuff going on, and we don't really need to know all the ins and outs until the deals are done so whilst speculation and suggesting of names is all good let's not get ourselves too vexed that we've not signed anyone yet. Hardly any business has been done yet in this window by anyone, so I'd expect thing to happen over the weekend or early next week, and it wouldn't bother me at all to wait until the very last day if we picked up a good un
To be honest I'd be happy enough with a loan of someone like Guidetti or similar. We don't need to fork out for Hooper now, and Graham seems to have gone quiet too.
I can see the Hooper deal being drawn out to the wire now. I think we will return with one more bid, 6-7million and leave it there. The Graham deal going quiet could be either good or bad, hopefully talks are going on below the radar. With all of Birmingham's players supposedly being available i find it hard to believe that we would'nt be going back in for Curtis Davies, after chasing him all summer. Also Redmond hasnt been mentioned much, i think he would be a good option for us, probably pick him up for about 3mil. What do you guys think?
Davies has been talked of at £1.5m, which is a steal, so we really should be in that race. If we're competing with Reading, surely our better league position and the chance to work with Hughton again would count in our favour? Would love to see Redmond provide competition for Pilks, I've no idea how much he'd go for though.
I would think that if Redmond was going for anywhere near 3m, much larger clubs would snap him up. Bridcutt seems expensive at 3m, but we do need support there. Never seen him play, but I know a lot of you regard him highly I'll not be around until Sunday or Monday now guys (I'll be on twitter), so here's hoping when I come back we have something to celebrate.
Hooper = probably not now, Graham = probably not now, expect someone unexpected .......... if that makes sense.
