we only have steven fletcher as a striker, connor wickham just aint cutting it at sunderland. so dg would be a proven buy especially for 5m. granted, hes not a marquee buy,but neither was steven fletcher and look how he has turned out. grahme is a player similar to fletch and i think would do a lot more good than bad. im not fussed what he said about sunderland,its only banter at the end of the day. i hope we get him, i think he will prove a lot of us wrong, just like steven fletcher did. by the way connor wickham really is ****. id be ****ting myself if fletch got injured and we were to rely on him for the remainder of the season. but on the other hand danny grahme would soften the blow. good, decent, honest striker. strong and not scared to get stuck in. just the type of player we need.
Very harsh on Wickham, he IS still young don't forget that and he certainly has fantastic potential and I imagine you'll be eating your words in the near future. Also on Graham, I would also like him, as you mentioned he is proven, my issue is MON plays 1 up front, so where DG (who if he leaves, it's for first team football) fits in I do not know
maybe a little harsh, but i have expected to see him starting to use his size in a physical way and be chipping in with goals in the epl. i nowh dosent get much of a chance. but when he does he is really disapointing. he looks easy knocked off the ball, and all round play as a striker is really lacking.hope i am proven wrong but hes defo nowere near premiership standard at moment. maybe a loan move in future may be a good idea.
I have to disagree with you fella, whickham has something about him, i cant quite put my finger on it just yet, but he has that special something. In time we'll find out what it is! Have you seen any approaches for him, no. Strict hands off i reckon! He's a baby scoring at international level for fun! And he's ours!

Sorry but I just don't see it , the lad has been with us 18 month now and he hasn't moved forward an inch. In that time I think he has scored once, and "scoring at international level for fun " behave . We have knocked back loan approaches from the championship this year but the reason we havn't had a real approach for him is that no one and I mean no one in the premiership would fancy him. Why dosn't MON use him more often, because he watches him everyday in training and he dosn't fancy him , it is simple
Shiney, I don't think he's ready either. But don't thinks its that MoN doesn't fancy him yet. We spent a fortune on him and he'll be given every chance to prove himself before we write his purchase off. And he's still a young'un remember, so he's probably got another 12/18 months.
Mon must see something or he would be off the books surely £8.1m must also demand decent wages, he's scored 3 in 3 including the play off final hasnt he? I accept he is very young and the club made a massive investment in him but the huge disappointment is the lack of progress the lad has made, he realy hasn't moved forward an inch in 18 month.
