Hopefully the planned expansion goes ahead allowing the club to be more accomodating with offers, as suggested by HJ
Nobody will ask for 50% of anything just a small token for all the support the fans have given for decades of lean times when the club was begging for support. I think they owe us that at the very least and not rub our noses in it telling us what fantastic wages the lads are on and what sort of bonus they could get at the end of the season...If the money was going to the club for expansion etc then there would not be an issue but its not its going to the players some of which we spent our time collecting to go towards their wages in the past...its morally wrong and the fans deserve better...
They have done that by keeping season ticket prices down when they could have jumped up the prices like they have with walk in tickets
Come on Dai be realistic here, the players here and now were not here when the buckets were going round. I think the club has done enough IMO to keep fans happy. I know I'm happy with things as they stand, of course I would like things cheaper but we've got to look at the whole picture not just this. Without success on the field with the rewards to the players we can kiss goodbye to a lot of things in the future including expansion of the liberty. Am I happy that some players will be getting £2m a year at our club? Well no as I mentioned above I think no player is worth that. We need a balance yes, but a sensible business will always invest in things that could bring a better return, each position is worth a fortune from the premier league, so there's an incentive to the players to achieve.
ST's were kept down you say..sorry ST's are at its maximum they could charge for a club like ours. Its not cheap by any means by the way a lot of fans say they cant afford to fork out to buy one. we are not talking peanuts her we are talking anything between £5 and £8 million and to me and many others that is obscene to give it all the the players after the support the fans have shown since the days of division 2 and we had nothing except the loyalty of the fans who not only paid gate money but would chip in to pay a players wages. no im sorry its pay back time now and there should not be any complaints from the club after what we done for them.....Its not even going into the club its going to the players and they should now show some loyalty to the fans...
This bonus system is the reason why we can just about keep hold of our better players, im not talking about when a mega offer comes in for a player but for the likes of Neil taylor and Ash williams this kind of system can tip the balance in our favour, and extra 250,000 grand a year is around 5k a week which can take that weekly wage into something more respectable in premier league terms. Im all for giving the players the rewards while they are in the prem leaugue it is what it is,its the nature of the beast, pay peanuts get monkies
I think you'll find that season ticket prices at the swans to be not as expensive as certain clubs who we consider small clubs like ours. But most clubs have a huge advantage over our club is that their stadiums hold a lot more people and have more flexibility with prices. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/22/premier-league-season-ticket-prices Dai you keep on going back to the loyalty of the club etc to the fans, I don't see why they should have an obligation to us beyond providing what we paid for, if there was such loyalty it should go both ways, where was this loyalty to our club 10-15 years ago when only a couple of thousand fans were turning up at games? Something already mentioned
why should they not show us any loyalty you say.......Well when they asked for loyalty we hard core fans give it to them. If the money was going into the club then i could accept that as we would all benefit but its not...Its all going to the players who are on good wages anyway and some of them we paid to top up their wages when the club could not afford to pay them...I think its disgusting that now the club is rich that they dont say thank you. To knock a tenner of the new shirts that will be coming out before next season is just one example of something the club could do. we are an important part of the club and they should not forget it....well its time to make a move to freeze my bollocks off watching us hopefully put in a good show...
