Seen on the PINK UN speculation that the revised bid to Celtic includes offering Holt as part of the offer. Does this seem likely? Hardly sends a vote of confidence to the club captain if we are prepared to unload him to bring in a new striker. I have only seen very limited clips of Hooper - is he worth Holt plus cash? That said I have only seen two games this season and Holt did not start in either of them so no first had knowledge of his performances so far.

Holt has not been scoring this season, but I don't think that is down to him.
playing in a different role and I think he is doing it well.

For me I would only move Holt on if I was getting someone else in as well.
So if he goes as part of a deal for Hooper I would expect to see another striker come in too.
Problem is I wouldn't be surprised if I was disappointed with this expectation.

Not sure about this at all. Heard Jackson being looked at Wolves and Morison by Leeds. Sell those two and use the cash to help the Hooper bid, that makes sense. Holt with Russ Martin is the heart and soul of the team IMO and this rumour is a bad one.

I'd stick Hoolahan in that category as well with R Martin and Holt,

Thanks for sorting that out. It did not make sense to me that we would let Holt go.

Surprisingly, Holt reckons that Surman is one of the biggest characters too, so might be another to add to that category.

McNally has fully mcnallyed this on twitter. I heard a clap of thunder and he dismissed all sales of senior players or swaps.

In the name of McNally, amen.

I would write off Morison just yet. He's not in form, clearly, but I could definitely see a situation where his services are required in the next half of the season

Especially if we move towards a two striker system which i think we will.

BTW this has brought up some illuminating opinions of some fans. Happily letting Grant Holt go?

In my eyes, anyone that doesn't rate Holt, doesn't understand Holt and they can go and sit in the corner with their hands over their eyes like the England manager.

Holt is the heart of the club, the very heart. I fear for some fans intelligence sometimes...
