I think we will sign Mbiwa and Heidara plus also possibly someone cheap like Hangeland.
I really don't see us getting a replacement striker.
I can see Sammy and/or Fergie going on loan too but I have an awful feeling Colo will be on his way.

Just a thought on that last point... if it is contract termination he could in theory leave in Feb March or beyond so I'm hoping we say... look Colo... as soon as we are mathematically safe we'll let you go... just a thought.

I 'm too scared to look at the 'news' reports, or to even think how the rest of this window will go. We seem to be cursed this season.

1cb and 1 striker - we may get a development player as well

Hangeland will be looking for more than us. Maybe Haidara but being honest our current form makes signing either him or Mbiwa tricky. We don't pay top dollar and that is the only way you get these types in January when you are in a dog fight. Unless they see the Europa as a draw but can anyone seriously see us turning over Metalist?

I think we may get a striker and centre back but our sights will probably be much lower than those the press are currently touting.

Dafter things have happened... I remember us being dead and buried in the CL group stages once.... and then it all changed when we won 3 on the bounce culminating in THAT goal at Feyenoord.

Not impossible I agree but we can't defend. They seem to have no problem scoring and are pretty solid defensively. They have a load of Brazilians and Argentines which means clever movement and picking off poor defending. They'll just target Santon I fear. Never say never but I'm fearful.

If we don't buy a striker we are as good as down, end of story

It will be interesting to see how much of difference Mbiwa makes (assuming he signs) to our defending. Heard very good things about him so I would be instantly more hopeful as long as he was replacing Williamson rather than Colo on the teamsheet.

Other than Mbiwa and this Haidara chap I will be bitterly disappointed if there is no Ba replacement. The usual diet for an NUFC fan.

have to be honest if we did sign Mbiwa I'd view that as a major coup as he is very much above out station imho.

Also Twitter news on Sissoko preferring a move to us:

    Francois Piraux ‏@F8Piraux

Moussa Sissoko prefers Newcastle United. Magpies are currently in negotiation with Toulouse. But, QPR want the player too. #NUFC #QPR

Ashley prays to get hijacked again so he doesnt have to pay out and dreams of the parachute money rolling in ( it is supposed to be worth more than what this seasons winners get). Then he sells off some `purple players` when we go into the Championship and tells Parddew `` Dont worry Al I made a packet there, start again and get us back up there`

We are hearing that #Arsenal have also made a late bid for #Mbiwa. Everything is agreed with #NUFC, but its up to the player now. #AFC

That would be all well and good apart from he'd be a lot better off staying in the PL and coining in the money from the 3billion TV deal signed last summer which comes into effect next season. This really is a season you don't want to be dropping out of the PL.........................
