Nelsen in 25 squad ?

Would it be smart to give him a place if he decides to leave in 3-4 weeks? Surely our best defender but we would have an empty space for 3 months.

Yes because it's still transfer window. When it closes clubs must register players

 

You can however fill any places in the 25 after the end of the transfer window. You can't drop our change players but if someone leaves, you can add another player to the 25

 

Unless he's staying until the end (which he ain't) he shouldn't be in the 25

 

So when Nelsen leaves we can add a player we already have

 

if we can add a player when he leaves we might as well use him

So it is really a choice of play Nelsen until Jan 31st, then let him go to Toronto, or put him in the 25 until end of season, or until such time as we are either safe or relegated.

 

We've had Dyer making the numbers down to a 24 man squad for 18 months and yet we're talking about booting out our most reliable defender?

If they came to an agreement then they'll work to the agreed date unless a super CB appears in the next week and then they'd let him walk.

Using up a valuable squad place at the expense of the crucial Ephraims and Youngs? What am I talking about? Drop him now!!!

 

Harry has said he will stay to end Feb early March so he has to be in the 25. If he isn't he could just as well go end January.

 

Depends on who we have to leave out, wed be stupid to name Ephraim over Nelsen for example.
I dont think we will have to make a decision as weve lost Cisse, Dyer, Johnson and can leave out Ephraim and weve only added Remy and maybe Mvila. So wed have to sign 3 more players to contemplate leaving out a useful player.

It's really not a waste of a squad space. If he leaves at any point upto the end of the season, you can add a previously unregistered player to the 25 list in his place. So say he does leave in February, you could add anyone not already registered and over 21 in his place.

 

Well if that is the case then, we should name him in the 25 unless we get some giant of a CB..

No you cant, the only time you can add someone is if there was already a spare space at the close of window and you sign someone who hasnt played for another team since the window was shut.
