This reminds me of very similar rubbish that was always spouted, by certain people, on The Saints Web. In fact, I think I remember the name.

You know where the exit door is Redstripe76. I suggest you use it. You'll not convince anyone here.

Amongst our fans there seems to be a pro Nicola camp and an anti Nicola camp. Having read this poster's tirade I am rather pleased that I have nailed my flag to the pro Nicola mast.

Amongst all of this nonsense it is important to remember that whether or not people agree with Nicola I think it is safe to say we all admire and respect Nigel.

We may not agree with Nicola about Adkins (but I am willing to wait and see), but the more the media and idiots from other clubs turn on him, the more supportive I become. He is not vindictive and he did not sack Nigel for sackings sake...it would have been easier for him to keep him, but he had reasons that were valid to him. I'm willing to give the new guy a chance.

Rather tired of talking about this, but perhaps we can consider that Cortese may have simply made a mistake.

I think there's been enough rumor and behind-the-scenes stuff that we all know Cortese is a pretty aggressive guy. But so far it must be said that his hard-charging, take no prisoners way has served the club well. But like anyone, Cortese will make mistakes and like most others I think this may well be a colassal one. But perhaps he will learn from this. He has earned enough leeway over the past years that I think he gets to make a mistake. Even if Saints get relegated, we can still be back up in what I would have said was a likely timeframe to reach PL from the start.

It seems like people are rushing to say that now that Saints are in the Premier League Cortese has changed and is rushing things along too fast. Or that Cortese has always been like this but we are just now finding out. In other words, that this is the kind of person he is or has become and therefore this will simply be the first in a series of disastrous decisions that lead us on a path to doom. But maybe Cortese learns from this. Even if the results on the pitch bear out that this was a good strategic decision perhaps next time he will handle a dismissal with a bit more class.

And we may have already seen Cortese's ability to learn and change. He was certainly behaving in the stereotypical Cortese manner towards Puncheon, and I was certain Pucheon would be doomed to ride out his contract on the bench. I didn't even have a problem with that as I thought Puncheon deserved it for his actions. But in the end Puncheon talked with Cortese, was allowed back on the team, and that ended working out FAR better than I ever thought it would.

Cortese burnt a lot of good will from me with this move, but he'd earned quite a bit. So I'm still on board despite my huge misgivings over this for all sorts of reasons. IF this doesn't work out and we have a revolving door of managers or are swamped with overpaid, underachieving starlets then I will agree that Cortese is a jerk and needs to go.

But I can't see what anyone gets out of bailing out on Cortese/Saints so early. So that in a year if you are right you can tell everyone else "I told you so?" That's important enough to you to turn your back on the club?

Few papers ment to running a story that Adkins had fallen out with a lot of the senior players tomorrow.

I think it is time for a truce on Cortese, let's just concentrate on getting the result that we want tomorrow, then we can enjoy another WUMfest with better ammunition.

Red stripe you sound no more than an agitator, a WUM maybe

Without Nicola I strongly believe we wouldn't have a club, so for that I am eternally grateful to him. I also wish he would show his more human side, as surely he must have one, and I am disgusted that the official announcement was so matter of fact to Nigel as he deserved more, but so does Nicola.

It's sad that they have to publish stuff like this...I suppose they regard it as even-handed, but the man has lot his job and for the moment is out of the public eye. I bet if any of us left work, there would be people who said we were great and others that would disagree. I prefer to remember Nigel for what he achieved.

Oh God, it's not Fonte's wife again is it:)

Great, so one paper says that the players are on the point of mutiny whilst another says that they will be getting out the bunting!

The truth is probably that they are sorry for Nigel as a person and grateful to him for their promotion, but are hoping that a new manager can make them even better or give them more game time if they haven't been playing. Footballers are used to this happening...they rarely stay anywhere more than a few years themselves.
