thats the position as i know it too. nothing has developed as yet, i heard lambert was going to sit with him and discuss?? but that was only word of mouth.

he seems to be loved at gillingham so if i would like to see him anywhere, itd be the gills

it seems inevitable if u ask me, good luck to the lad, i rated him, but think he's found his level for now, maybe champiionship quality in a year or two

i think it will happen, depending on finances. i gather we paid around £70k for him!! given his age, and the fact he scored 25?????? goals for u this season, i reckon we may sell for £250k???

I think you paid 25k for him as I remember Dartford selling him, I had heard of him, But never thought he would make it so big in the Football league when I saw him play 2 times.
I think we could afford that amount, Well he would be worth it in my opinion.

Personally Hoadie, I hope you do get him. He clearly likes it there.

I honestly think the prem is a step too far, but he's a great lad who would do well for you again next year, maybe even help that extra push into the play-offs.

We haven't seen him for ages, yet everybody talks well of him. An asset to any club methinks, but deserves/needs playing time to keep on improving. We could live to regret it if we let him go, but Lambert seems a fair-minded guy who will want him to go where he's getting games.

I have to admit - I wouldn't sell yet. Rather I'd loan out to League One for the season with the intention of selling if we stay in the Prem or he doesn't have the success he enjoyed at Gillingham or bringing him back fit and firing for a cheap but confident goal scorer in the event of our relegation.

If you ask me the lad seems to lack ambition. He seems to be in some sort of comfort zone with The Gills, near his roots etc, etc. He hasn't even mentioned returning to City to fight for a place with his parent PREMIER LEAGUE club !
Silly boy, still, if that's what he wants fair play to him Que sera sera

I disagree kickitoff. I reckon it would lack ambition and drive to come back to Norwich because to be fair the best he could hope for is a place on the bench, if that. He obviously just wants to get regular game time and become a hero to gills fans. Much like Hucks did for us even if at times he was easily our best player. I would be very interested to see how Cody would get on in the championship though. Can see someone along the lines of Donny or newly promoted sides taking a punt on him though.

Considering his age (below 25 I believe) and amount of goals through predatory insticts he scored last year in league 2 I could see us getting up to 500k for him.

I really doubt we will have 500k to spend straight out cash on him, But I can see us playing 250k and then future fees.

I would say if Cody wants to go back to Gillingham let him go. Just can not see him breaking in to the first team at the top level, sadly for him.
Might as well let the lad build his career elsewhere and move on <ok>

No idea what his worth is to us though but certainly has a decent value at the level he has been playing in for the last 9 months. Would be interesting to see if he can repeat such a performance next season.

Yeah I am worrying that if we do get him that he may not get as many as this season because even look at Adam Le Fondre, He got 30 in 09-10 season, 21 this season, So can Cody do it again for us.

he has said that he does not think he will figure in lamberts plans next season, don't forget we have to announce a 25 man squad and i doubt he will be in that. i saw on one thread on another site (other sites are available) that peterborough were interested which makes me think they expect us to go for cms.
