Completely agree. Adkins would be a superb acquisition, even if in a technical role until Warnock's contract ran out or he decided to piss off
Think GFH need to ask Warnock bluntly now what his plans going forward are. If he's only interested in this season I would approach Adkins right now. Still give Warnock the rest of the season, but have his replacement ready in advance so he's well prepared to take over at the end of the season in a smooth transition.
If the Spanish league were swamped with English managers and owners who idolized the English style, I'd be complaining about 'limey pricks' exactly the same as I am here, and bemoaning the ethnic cleansing of Spanish managers too. I say 'each to their own', and countries can't have a footballing identity or tradition if they all veer towards this homogeneity of 'purism' (bore-ism). It's not a case of 'there are no English managers because they're all ****'; it's a symptom of English football laziness that we've reached the situation we have. English footballers aren't given the motivation or teaching to be in an informed position to manage. And even when they are, and are well-qualified (like with Adkins), they are ousted for foreigners because of the English league's far higher number of foreign owners than the Spanish have. All of it is part of the decrepit state of modern football in this country, where the fans have no say unlike the major clubs in Germany and Spain where a controlling stake is held by supporters groups who appoint people with a link to their club as manager.
*who generally... Bayern Munich are hardly comparable to most salt of the earth, localized German clubs - they're the scum of Deutschland.
