You suspect wrong its snowed here every year for about the last 5, and I knew you would comment on the attendance and once again you have no idea at all do you? People couldn't get there simple as that, i live about 4 miles away from the ground and it took me 2 and a half hours to get there on combination of bus and walking, if you were relying on transport to get there then you couldn't make it simple as that. It would have been a crowd of around 16 or 17k in normal circumstances, friday night on sky. you got 16k last week on sky in a local derby on a saturday when there were 3,000 weds fans there. Also a few weeks ago some of your lot tried saying the fact we only brought 1700 to the kc on boxing day was poor, even though you only brought 1400 to the king power on a sunday 3pm in september. Please stop talking drivvle.
Also why is there an 8 page thread about leicesters game on the hull board?? and for those who were wishing injuries broken legs, heavy defeats etc, sorry to disappoint you, just another win, clean sheet and good performance.
To be fair it was a very good game last night contested by two strong teams with contrasting styles. I think it made a good advert for the Championship and I think both teams will be involved in the promotion race right up to the wire. Leicester have a combative and attacking style with players that can hurt you and now they have a tight defence which was previously their achilles heel. I thought Boro played really elegant football similar to the Dutch in that they had good technical players who were comfortable on the ball, they passed well, retained possession and didn't panic in defence. All they lacked was a cutting edge, but you have to be impressed by Mowbray's work and I have to swallow before saying it, but the same is true of Pearson (except that he has had the luxury of the Bank of Thailand in support). I reckon City, Cardiff and Leicester are currently the three favourites to go up, but Boro and Palace are very close behind and one decent signing by any of those teams could tip the balance.
On the attendace the roads in Leicester were dreadful. The Middlesborough team buse didnt turn up at the stadium until 7.20. No one can say anything about the fans who didnt make it. It normally take me 45 mins to walk to the KP but last night it took me 1 hour because of the conditions. All round a decent game and a massive 3 points
i know about ten diehards who simply couldnt make the game last night as they live too far away and were working til 5 or 6. I usually get the bus to town then walk takes about 30 mins usually i took me 2 and a half hours to get there only arrived seconds before kick off. Good job i left early as i was going to have a drink before but that soon went out the window, bus took nearly an hour to go about 300 yards it was ridiculous. Such a shame as the match itself was brilliant full of action and quality and a big 3 points for us.
Fairweather supporters I'm afraid. This cold snap/ snow has been talked up all week. Either no one watches TV/reads the paper in Lesster, or it was just too cold for them to leave their hearths.
If you'd bothered to read previous posts on this thread.......you'd have guessed that it was/is as much about Boro as it is about Leicester. 3rd v. 5th you dumbo!!! ....and therefore of interest to City fans as we were then 2nd. FFS!
What happened to you taking 2nd spot back then, mind you a good result for you against the mighty Peterborough
Firstly, it's 'were'. Secondly, the scorelines aren't a reflection of entertainment value. Obviously you'd rather win 6-0 playing like Stoke than 1-0 playing like Brazil, but that isn't the point.
There were many a sad face when the final whistle blew at the King Prawn stadium friday night. The glums were in town. But the result apart what i found funny was the pictures of the Thai owners during the game watching tv screens. Talk about no faith in there team or was is just time for Coronation Street ?? Also, another bad night for Chris Wood.
