are there 2 different Sunderland teams out there? Mon keeps talking about consistency but it cant be that as today we went behind and any team without confidence and a belief they could win would have just collapsed. The players know what they can do but need to go behind to pove it , is it because they are to afraid to loose that we play total defence before a team scores .Once they have let a goal in they have nothing to loose and start to play there own game with no pressure. how can we get the players to play there best game from the start and not worry about losing? At the end of the day a win is a win
That's it exactly. A win is a win. 28 points from 23 games. 9 points clear of the drop. Getting closer and closer to challenging for 8th place. Looking forward to Mangane getting a game.
Like you say lets get at teams from the whistle. We are much better at the mo going forward than defending. We need a few more players with pace before we can play MONs preffered type of game. Like you say a win is a win. Just need Swansea to hang on in the 2nd leg against Chelsea and with a Wembley appearance their form might dip. Good time to play them.
When we try to go forward and get goals we look a good team. Why the **** we sit back and defend i don't know.
The ghosts of the first 15 games this season came back in the second half. We're on the right path overall at least
I think its a case of getting a decent balance. I think we can all see Vaughan brings something to the side and alongside Ndiaye there is a nice balance to the midfield. They played well together, when one got forward the other sat. They had the advantage today of having Larsson in there to do some work too so they did not get exposed. I think once MON gets the player in to get a balance to the side we will be fine. For me Johnson played much better today on the left, Sess looked more comfortable on the right and in general people were playing in their natural positions. Colback is a much better full back than central midfielder. I still think were a couple of players short, we certainly need another striker and another central midfielder.
Thought the new lad N'Daiye had a reasonable first half, great to see one of our midfield breaking forward and putting an excellent cross in for Fletchers first goal, the new lad tired a bit second half, but i suppose that was to be expected. When he gets match fit i believe he will be awesome.
Could Alfred play the first half against Swansea then bring Sess on to replace him in he second, it gives both players a rest. 12 points off that champions league place! you never know in football.
