Mapou Yang Mbiwa Signs!!!!!!!

The big question here is, does he play at RCB or LCB. I know people don't often look at this for a CB, but I do think they tend to have preferred sides, Kompany and Lescott always play on the same side, Colo has always played LCB for us, so if Mbiwa plays on the right, it will be alongside Colo, if on the left, it will be his replacement I think.

Although disappointed to miss out at the last minute on Remy, for me a quality CB is a must have signing, more important than a new striker. So if we do sign this guy, l for one will see it as a major boost to the squad.
That said, not going to believe anything until he is on the steps at SJP, holding up his new black and white shirt.

 

He can "play anywhere across the back four" from what I have seen and read in reports.

Am I the only one who is sick to death of hearing about links to us. Half the players in Europe are supposedly under our microscope.
Why not just shut up and get on with it, then call a press conference to show our new players off, AFTER they have signed.

You are definitely over doing it with the French players now, IMHO

 

It's not a replacement for Colo, it's to strengthen.

Colo has said his reasons for wanting to go are entirely personal, but Pards thinks we can reason with him, and he can be calmed down and convinced to stay.

 

My guess would be that Colo is a bit disheartened with the teams results this season, he probably would like to play champs league football and yesterdays result will not make him feel better.
I think Pardew has got a tough job convincing him that his future is there at the minute.
Pardew has lots of problems to worry about at the minute and most are his own fault.
