With Ascot abandoned, the Victor Chandler Chase has been added to Cheltenham's Festival Trials Day card on January 26th, producing possibly the best card of National Hunt racing ever seen <yikes> - certainly a match for Newbury's "Super Saturday" last season. Here the star-studded line up:

12:10 The JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial (A Juvenile Hurdle Race) (Class 1) (Registered as The Finesse Juvenile Hurdle Race) (Grade 2)

12:40 The Timeform Novices' Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 2)

13:15 The Murphy Group Steeple Chase (A Handicap) (Class 1) (Grade 3)

13:50 The Victor Chandler Steeple Chase (Class 1) (Registered As The Clarence House Steeple Chase) (Grade 1)

14:25 The Argento Steeple Chase (Class 1) (Registered As The Cotswold Steeple Chase) (Grade 2)

15:00 The Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle Race (Class 1) (Registered as The Classic Novices' Hurdle Race) (Grade 2)

15:35 The Rewards4Racing Cleeve Hurdle Race (Class 1) (Grade 2)

16:10 The Steel Plate And Sections Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 2)

I can hear Nass purring with anticipation (at least I HOPE that's what he's doing)

Assuming at least one of these will win, all we need is a staking plan that guarantees a profit; stop at a winner.

Glad Sprinter races during a day with other interesting races. Many won't agree but as much as I enjoy watching his brilliance, completely one sided races at 1/6 doesn't hold my interest from a spectating and punting viewpoint.

I'd half agree with that Boston, one big race with a massive odds on superstar in it, surrounded by low or medium grade handicaps does not do it for me unfortunately.

I suppose the flipside to that is that we'd have week upon week of pure dross on a Saturday, and then possibly one weekend / Saturday of bumper top class races one after another
