Plays them, southampton have one of the best youth academys about. There left back playing now (cant remember his name) will go on and be a top, top player & Adkins had the balls to play him because he was good enough. He's the kind of manager who would have let young Chris Dawson have a run about by now. I now Warnock got Bryam in the first team but I swear that was more circumstantial & lucky than a managerial assessment. Otherwise we wouldnt have signed Peltier surely. He's managed to handle Pucheon as well. The guys got abilty but appears to have somewhat of an attituite problem (some would say diouff like, I would say thats unfair as he hasnt put a foot wrong in our colours) Adkins loaned him out, shook him up abit & showed him what saints could offer him ambition wise. 67 wins out of 124 makes him the most successful saints manager in history I believe, of course thats counts lower league wins but I wanted him in when he was at Scunthorpe. Looks like Adkins is off to Blackpool according to the bookies, but I think he would do a great job for us even under our current circumstances.
I can,t believe you said that Aide he is a very charming man you have only to look at his attitude towards the fans the way he goes round greeting people young and old not a bit arrogant and he has bedded some good youngsters into the team the only blemish is Rodrigues a waste at £7m but other than that he is faultless
Yyou can't just sack Warnock after 1 year in charge, such a stupid thing to do. Would be almost as stupid as sacking Grayson. We're 11th in the championship and only 5 points off the play offs with a very average squad. It's not warnock's fault that he isn't improving the squad, it's clearly down to the finances that he is granted with. Were you expecting him to get Leeds promoted automatically by replacing players such as Howson, Snodgrass, gradel etc, with norris, green and varney??? And like i said without sufficient funds then you can't expect warnock to get such an average group of players to mount a serious promotion challenge. Give him 10 million to spend in summer and then sack him in the summer of 2014 if things haven't changed. That would make more sense..
Didnt Warnock say he was retiring this summer. It was only an eighteen month gig with us. If that's the case still, we should be lining up his replacement now
English managers are being ethnically cleansed from this country's top flight. That's a fact, and a ****ing disgraceful one at that. Five years down the line, I fully expect 90% of teams to be composed of soft little two-yard-passing dago pricks who've never made a slide tackle or headed the ball in their life. I hate the amateurish clogball that Warnock's imposed on our team, but there should be a balance rather than this constant yearning for boring, boring Barca's style to be replicated in every single football side in existence by the so-called 'purists'. Pure = bore.
From 03-07 there was an average of 16-17 managers from the British Isles in the top flight, and 10-11 of them were English. Right now, there are 11 managers from the British Isles, and four of them are English. Ethnic cleansing.
While I agree with the sentiment and empirical evidence, your characterization is somewhat overly dramatic and potentially offensive to some. Better to avoid the use of inflammatory language, don't you think old boy?
Crikey, Jonny. You sound like a pure english toff speaking like that. Who's have thought a Yank could use the language as well as that?
If anyone's offended, I ask them to speak up and explain why. English managers are disappearing rapidly from our game. The last one to win the league was Wilko in '92, for Allah's sake, and only a fifth of top flight clubs now employ one. Increase in foreign owners = increase in foreign managers = increase in the belief that foreign football managers are some sort of master race, innately superior to ones brought up between Berwick and Dover. Ethnic cleansing = mass deportation of a national group - fair enough, not from a country in this instance, but from their place of work. You can call it discrimination on grounds of nationality if you'd prefer to think of it less rhetorically. Fact: Leeds have only ever won trophies with a Yorkshireman in charge.
Facts speak for themselves: if British managers were any good, we would be swamped with them. Just like with international football, the UK has fallen behind markedly, as have the managers and coaches. Always a few good ones, but the world is much smaller now and we can afford to get the best in. If these "tippy tappy dagos" proved they were no good at coaching great football, we would be rid of them. Simples. Quite ironic that a post as irrationally aggravating as "dago pricks" also claims the high ground regarding "ethnic cleansinig". Nearly fell off my chair laughing at the naivety and arrogance of that.
I have to agree i Think its a trend thing very fasionable to get an overseas coach I bet that the new coach at Southampton sees them relegated this seasonthe most ludiicous decision I have ever come across!
Its a sad commentary on our game, that he was sacked - assuming theres not some private reason we don 't know about (and I am not suggesting there is) After a ropey start he has them 3 points above the drop zone, above teams like Newcastle and Villa. 9th in the form guide (9 points in last 6 games with only one loss). The only way this makes sense is if it is a long term strategic decision and not related to current performance, and the new manager is a superstar. Theres a few reports saying he is above average, and of course he has the advatage of speaking English so well he used an interpreter at the news conference. Bad way to treat a relatively successful manager though, whatever the underlying reasons. I suppose he will get a pay off and maybe we should not shed too many trears for him, for that reason, but the more I see oif the way the game is run these days, the ;less I like it. I am even windering if the FIFA / EUFA shower with their fair play rules have in fact got a point (not that that is relevant here, just saying generally maybe we need a bit more integrity in the game).
Overrated???? Are you 'aving a laugh?? Got a lowly little club like S****horpe promoted twice on a shoestring budget. Took us from 22nd in league 1 to 15th in the prem in 2 years. Leeds are a massive club, and if you got him, you would be lucky to have him. Nice bloke, very good manager and very positive in every thing he does. Preparation for games is very thorough, no stone left unturned. Come on Leeds fans, you're living in the past and you need to get back in the prem cause big clubs need to be in the prem. Adkins would get you there quicker than Warnock. Me and every other Southampton fan are pretty pi**ed off he's been sacked. Our loss may very well be your gain !!!!!!
