Fair comments Ivor, having a bit of devil in us is not a bad thing but it hasnt hindered us too much these last 3/4 seasons . Im not saying we should be patting ourselves on the back for being 9th i am saying that despite your concerns we have been better than most teams this season and that includes the likes of Stoke who do indeed enjoy putting the foot in !!

Maybe the proposed signing of k.jones from stoke points to Laudrup looking to work on this problem of us being a bit soft? he is certainly a handful of a player and offers more in the air than DG.

Enforcers ? nah, im going to disagree on that one ubt there we go each to their own init !! ..<cheers>

Don't be so down, Dai, it's not as bad as that. The lads have done well so far and, understandably, fatigue has begun to set in. Our results have been OK but the performance levels have dipped. Michael has to rotate players, and as well as the replacements have done, we do lose at least 10% in not playing our strongest side. As margins are so fine at this level, that has cost us. That and the lack of commitment by some players which I've been banging on about on another thread.

I was hoping that we could get back to form against Stoke but upon reflection that might be being optimistic. I'm sure the players will have their minds on beating Chelsea so as to get to Wembley, which might take the edge of Saturday's performance. As someone else posted elsewhere, we should pray for snow......

    1) what you basing that on ?
    2) we are playing almost 2 games a week , and have lost 1 game in the league since November
    3) yes we have been found out, we've lost 2 games since October in the league
    4) don't give a **** what Brendan does, the swans are my club and only concern

Its not me being down ivor as i except we are punching well above our weight and its only a matter of time before we wont be a force, the signs are there with us struggling to win many games and sir mike trying to rectify that and only making things worse....the defense has been our savior in the last few months and should that fail we will be in trouble...I cant see the flair we had a few months ago with the players passing with confidence and accurate. I see none of the wingers making runs and taking on players, all you see now is back passes that end up with the keeper...the fact is sir mike has made more changes than whats needed and we look a shadow of what we are use too. thanks to the defenders and vorm/tremmel that we have kept the goal tally low....

10 years yesterday we were bottom of the Football League. We are now playing against some of the greatest players in the world. We have beaten the current European Champions in their own back yard. We have twice played a team who have played Champions League football for the last 15 years and lost to a late goal.
We have drawn away to our nemesis - Everton.

Arsenals and Chelseas players cost TENS of millions of pounds. There is a reason for that - they can play football at the highest level.

So when you worry about why we are making too many back passes or "dips" in our performance, it may be worth remembering the limitations of our own squad. We are not going to play free-flowing champagne football week-in, week out against some of the top teams in Europe.

You really dont have a clue do you? Do you really think that Swanseas utilization of defensive strategies and tactics in the last month or so is caused by a lack of imagination.

No...the defense has not been our saviour. ML has deliberately used the winter program to train and develop the defensive capabilities which everyone could see was dire in the beginning of the season. The winter has made Swansea even stronger, not weaker.

Obviously, training passing has been put on hold to a certain degree to train defense and organisation, particularly at set pieces.

I have more of a clue than most on here by a long way. I view the game on a profecional level that is probable a bit to much over most heads. you only look at the near misses or the 5 minutes of good play where i look much deeper and try to see why we have not been playing fluent football like we were a few months ago...You see us beating chelsea 2-0 with very late goals and i see it as we were very lucky our defense stopped chelsea being in double figures before that. I saw the arsenal game the same. we were out fought out played and again only our defense and keeper stopped a shed full of goals as the rest of the players were non existent and were so easy to play against.....now our defenders cant be seen to bail us out of every game and eventually someone will put double figures past us and if you understand football and read football as good as me then it wont be a huge surprise.....Try and look at the big picture and not just the very limited good bits...we have not played well with confidence for months....

Im not here to win friends vetch im here to put out the truth and tell some deluded fans that they should take their heads out of their arses and look at the big picture and the big picture is that we have been solid at the back that have been over worked these past few months and eventually that will break and someone will score double figures. the rest of the team have about 10 minutes of the ball and the opposition are dealing with them with ease. I dont care about hitting the post if most of the play is in our own half defending...

Dai, I think you should contact Sir Michael Laudrup immediately.

As you view football on such a highly professional level based on 60 years of observing the Swans, mainly in the lower divisions of the football league, and the occasional match at Ashleigh Road, you certainly have far higher credentials than anyone else in Swansea, Wales, Britain, Europe or even the World.

You should inform him of your concerns and advise him of a coherent strategy for the rest of the season because he obviously hasn't got a clue.

No one else on this forum need bother make any comments because Dai is right.
