Hi pal, yeah I am familiar with NMG he's as funny as they come around here. I'm not sure how he'll perform with Fletcher if O'Neill intends on playing them together, Graham's looking for 1st team action though so he must have a partnership in mind. Like a white Cole & Yorke partnership maybe!
He admitted it (not to the press mind but to his mates) that he intentionally missed the 1 on 1 in the derby and ****ed up the pass to Jenwyne Jones - Chopra is one player who never misses a 1 on 1 that I've seen - one of the best in the country against a keeper 1 v 1 but he decided to "pass" and not only put it too far in front of Jones but put it out for a throw in!! He did admit it and its widely accepted that he missed on purpose (although that's the only thing he did wrong for us)
Interesting Marcus. Where did you hear this? I've always been in two minds whether it was deliberate or not. Obviously if he's admitted it, then there is no doubt any more.
I think you should change that to all Mags as there are plenty of Geordies who support SAFC and hate the mags. Define Geordie? if its that you were born in Newcastle then I am a Geordie, although half my family are from Sunderland?
Ultimately, Danny Graham is a professional. Regardless of who he supported, or even still supports, it is his job to act in a professional manner and give his all for whomever he may sign. O'Neill will sign him if he believes Graham is capable of doing so. Sunderland fans should afford him the same courtesy. He might have put you up for adoption once he realised you were a geordie? Jeremy Kyle style DNA test here we come.
I have read nothing new or enlightening in this article that changes anything at all imo. Its merely one persons view which is clearly not shared universally. It could equally read that the things he has said in interviews, or Clarke did wearing that shirt, was completely unacceptable in both a professional personal level and that neither have the moral high ground to then wear the colours of out club ever again. I don't hide away from the fact that my opposition to him is completely based on those anti Sunderland sentiments and feelings he harbors and for that reason alone I don't want him here. If he was as good as Lionel Messi I wouldn't want him for what he has said and for what lies in his heart and this is very much a point of principal for me, in that I don't want the great name of my beloved SAFC to be dragged through the dirt. I believe that to wear my clubs colours you have to at least give a part of yourself to the cause and want to play for us. There is absolutely no way Danny Graham can even have 1% of his heart in our club, if we are the last club on earth he would support. The emotional connection I want to feel for the players that wear the red and white has to have a real tangible element and for me, every time I will see this lad play for us (if he signs) all I will ever think is 'you hate us and your heart isnt here with us as fans'. If you cant use your heart and the raw emotion a man and his football club has, to think for you and make rational and irrational decisions, then we may as well give up and play chess. He doesn't like us and I don't like him for that reason alone. If he was a boyhood mag fan but hadn't said the things he has and just admitted his affiliations, I maybe could accept that his place of birth is no barrier but to have come out and said what he has has broken the link between fan and player and that can never be healed just by scoring a few goals here and there.
