I've seen that WYP have cut Tottenham's allocation at your place to 3000... why?! I can see why they did for us. It's a fierce rivalry and all that but why Spurs? Because of costs? You have no rivalry with them at all... The rules of the competition are that each club gets 15% so why are the police not abiding with these rules? It's a joke...
Kenneth Bates won a financial dispute against the the west York's police. This I'd guess is the cops way of keeping the costs down and saying fcuk you to Leeds utd gate receipts.
Well, that won't concern you Wallies Mighty, your entire away fans come on a ****ing skateboard,... cos you're scared of us
I've heard a few stories about Leeds and Spurs in the 80s, and in fact fans clashing led to a death. In response, Leeds fans apparently used to gloat about a Spurs fan who was trampled on a tube escalator after being charged by Man U vermin. It's not a high risk fixture these days and there's no need for this constant Police bullying of Leeds United ticket office, but there is some edge to the game.
Doubt there'll be any particular edge to this game other than it being a cup tie. Really can't see why WYP would want to cut Spurs allocation to only 3000 other than to cut back on the bodies they have to put up to police the event. To be honest, the only time Spurs fans get lively & colourful is for matches against Arsenal & occasionally against other local London rivals. Heyho, still think we'll have over 30k in the ground. Hopefully Lennon will get a decent reception. Not his fault that he had to leave us. Hopefully we can also give Spurs a decent game. Doubt we'll win. But as long as we don't get embarassed.
Naughty one guys. Lazio make that lot to the right of Greece look like angels by comparison. No one goes there & walks aound on their own. Makes Deptford or the back streets of Beeston on a dark night look positively welcoming.
The Sun said it was Leeds fans who attacked that Tottenham fan other month and said Leeds fans are Lazio fans lol thats what I was getting at pal
It's Roma that behave like Turks isn't it, not Lazio? I've always got the impression that Lazio (and almost every other Italian club) model themselves more on English fans of old rather than snide backstreet slashers of the Continent. I do get the joke by the way, just digressing!
Well hopefully due to our "link" with Lazio, they'll manage to bring over more than the reported 6 fans that travelled in the Champions League in 2000/01.
I think most of the big Italian clubs (including Roma) have political extremists from both sides of the spectrum, so they leave their politics outside the ground. But Lazio are based in the same outskirts where Mussolini's functionaries lived, so there's a lot of fascist-era nostalgia and the prevalence of the Celtic cross in wall graffiti and clothing is striking, having visited the area. Roma fans were the ones who allegedly attacked Spurs as part of a far-right activist group, and I imagine they have as much political presence in that department as their cross-city rivals do, it's just that they don't make stupid banners like 'Klose mit uns' and rail against Jews in the Stadio Olimpico like the biancocelesti do.
