The QPR appearance was in the fa cup according to wikipedia. With numerous clubs after him, it must only be based on league games? ****ed if I know
Think a permanent transfer to another club isn't affected by that rule, it only means the player can't go on loan to another club.
'Emergency loans' don't count, so because he signed for Ipswich outside of the transfer window it doesn't count that he's played for them I think, but with Elmo his was a long term loan to us and he was (is) contacted to Sunderland when he played for them so it's different for Elmo. I'm sure Ricardo will be along before long to explain though!
This may be old news but Steve Bruce has today confirmed he has made an offer for DJ Campbell. In addition Mick McCarthy has revealed that DJ Campbell will not be signing for Ipswich and is set to sign a 3-year deal elsewhere.
Elmo cant go to Cardiff except on an emergency 93 day loan with the emergency loan window opens. Dont worrry, Elmo wont be going there.
If they buy him they cant play him. He can go on an emergency loan with a deal to buy but they can not outright buy him and then play him. Which is why the Mirror's article is nonsense.
You can play for three clubs if one of them is an emergency loan. DJ Campbell was at Ipswich for 93 days on emergency loan, so he can still go out on a half season loan, or move on a permanent. Elmo has played for us and Sunderland(on a season long loan), so can now only play for us or Sunderland, or go out on a 93 day emergency loan to a third club. It's not that complicated really.
It's not just loan rules. It can apply to permanent transfers, too. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/06/30/78/statusinhalt_en_122007.pdf
He'd be my first choice every day of the week but I'm not sure he's fit or available . Proper handful is that boy. Good on the deck and excellent in the air. He'd do to our team what Woods is doing for Leicester. Not my opinion but FACT.
I can remember when the rules of football were easy to understand, if you were off side you were off side, if the ball went in the net it was a goal and if you broke some ones leg you got booked.
Fraid i`m turning this into a bit of a crusade, a comment earlier was can anyone name anyone better then FC or DJ, well there he is in my opinion, I`ve constantly championed his cause for us to put a bid in for him, I don`t know if he is injured at the moment but he certainly has been only playing a bit part this season, getting a few minutes off the bench and cup games.... with the news that Chris HUGHTON is looking to invest in other strikers I think with a corrctly pitched and timed bid we`d get a proper striker in.
I've been saying we should go for him as well. I have spoken to an ex City centre half who's played against him and he reckons he's a very tidy player and an absolute beast to play against. As I have posted before, he also looks uncannily like Christian Bale. He was Batman. You don't think........ Nah surely not.
