Bruce says he's known about 6 weeks Campbell didn't want to come back

 

Then why is he making on that he's panic buying now then??? Doesn't seem to add up.

I think most sane City fans have known since August 2008 that he didn't want to be here. Unfortunately we have a few too many fans in the French Tickler mold, and who think we're a perfect club that everybody wants to play for.

 

Well lets hope this puts this one to bed ONCE AND FOR ALL. If he didnt want to come back now with mere months left on his deal and us second in the league playing for a manager who signed him previously and he supposedly liked then he's never coming back and nor should we want him.

So Bruce has known for six weeks that Fraizer Campbell didn't want to come back to us, and yet it was only this week that he found out that QPR were releasing DJ Campbell. But didn't he say that "as he couldn't get his number one target (FC) he was going to put a bid in for DJ"? My only thoughts were "why wait so long to make a decision"?

 

This is a good thing, it means SB will already be looking elsewhere, rather than being dumped in the sticky stuff at the 11th hour.

I agree, but does this mean that either DJ Campbell (assuming we get him of course) is better than others he has been looking at, or does it mean that there might be another target potentially in the door too?

 

When did Bruce say FC was his number 1 target? The only person who has "Officially" connected us to FC was his Dad, and we know what a tosser he is.

I don't think our interest in DJ is anything to do with FC, more likely a reaction to the Aluko injury.

 

I would guess another who has been our long term target for a while now.

 

I dont get the panic over FC , he had a decent half season with us in a strange play off season , where everyone around us was capitulating to their own downfall .

Since we never got him in the prem his career has been pretty much nothing . Not sour grapes but a realistic assessment of a player who is in a squad too high for his abilities .

I said all along he isnt what we need and i would only take him as a last option .

I think a lot of us Whittling Stick, including me, have got caught up with the media hype surrounding FC. It's easy, I suppose, to look at him with rose tinted glasses because of the memories he shared with us last time he was here.

 

He said it was because Fraizer didn't want to cloud what he had done here before....... I thought bollocks it just sounded like Bruce was trying to sugar coat Campbell wasn't interested at all!!

 

And you were right. He's really done nothing since 2008. Actually, if you wade through all the posts on here, almost nobody actually really rated him or wanted him back. Even those who did usually put the codicil "if we can't get anyone better"
