    Not good if true......

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a January bid for Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa, a move that could tempt the French international into a move to the North London club.
The Gunners boss is said to be ready to spend the transfer warchest he has been handed in order to strengthen his squad in pursuit of a top four finish and the coveted Champions League berth that is considered the very least Wenger must garner from the current campaign.
Chelsea vs Arsenal tickets still available
Alan Pardew has seen Demba Ba leave for Chelsea and now has to deal with the fact that his club captain, Fabricio Coloccini wants to return to his native Argentina. This may leave Ben Arfa considering his options, not least because the St James’ Park side have had a poor season and are in something of a relegation fight following a shocking run of form.
Wenger is apparently ready to invest as much as £16m in a bid to land the former Marseille man, who has long been linked with interest from the Emirates Stadium side.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley may struggle to turn down such an offer, especially if the French international pushes for an exit.
The talented winger has a great deal of affection for Newcastle United, not least because of the way in which they backed him through his lengthy spell out with a broken tibia and fibula, opting to continue with moves to make his temporary move to St James’ Park a permanent one despite being a long term injury casualty.
Ben Arfa was out for almost a year following a horrendous challenge by then Man City man Nigel de Jong, the wide-man battled back to full fitness and has been in excellent form over the past 18 months, form that has helped the attacker force his way back into the French national team set-up.
Wenger’s interest in re-igniting his long term pursuit of the Clairefontaine Academy graduate could well be due to his willingness to play Theo Walcott in a striking role, leaving room for a potential winger purchase.

If Wenger waves £16m under Mikes nose, I'm afraid HBA's gone.

Didn't HBA say recently that he'd leave us to win things? On this point, why would he go to Arsenal?

It's caughtoffside.com, the site that had Cabaye to Arsenal just about everyday in the summer. It's probably run by some delusional Arsenal fan

Arsenal are the laughing stock of the Premier League. They think they can get Cavani for £30 million when a £40+ million bid has been turned down by another club. They also think Theo Walcott is a good player. <laugh>

To be fair, I've been questioning his sanity since I saw him first wear that sleeping bag with bottom cut-off on the touchline, like a smelly nonsensical vagrant...

HBA will be off in the summer without a doubt. Arsenal is a step up whether we choose to admit it or not.

It would break my heart if Hatem left. I love this guy more than I loved Shearer!

Hatem will leave at some stage. He's a top 4 four player in this country or good enough to play for one of Europes elite. Realistically we can't expect players of this standard to be here long term. Just the way of the world. Particularly when you only paid 5m odd for him. Just the way it goes and I will just enjoy watching him for as long as we have him.
