All depends on how much choice he had at the time - can't really fault a last ditch reaction dive that palms it into the path of a striker.
I think Artur went mental again after the 2nd goal... love it:
Thing I love about Rickie's goal is Cahill trying to put two arms on Rickie to hold him back, Rickie responds by putting two arms on Cahill and sending him stumbling backwards three yards. In my head he also shouted 'GET OFF ME BOY!'.
I can't watch that goal without shouting Riiiiiiicccccckkkkkkkiiiieeee at the top of my voice and scaring everyone in the room. I think I have issues.
I hadn't noticed until you mentioned that, Cahill even has time to try and get back tight again but is clearly pretty intimidated and emasculated by our Rickie.
Ohhhhhhhh Artur Boruc! Holy Goalie! He hates the Skates! And when he isn't saving he goes drinking with his mates! He won't shake hands with any ****er Artur Boruc hates! Ohhhhhhh Artur Boruc! ....etc.... I've been thinking and that's what I've got.
On a seperate note i hear he is very close to a National call up once again, purely through peer preasure of Polish fans.
The Poles do seem to like him, Polish mate says he'd have him back in the fold tomorrow had he not had a bust-up and told the FA and the Manager what he thought. Still loves him though.
Boruc and Smuda had history going back to both their times at legia. Smuda didn't rate him and he was only about 17 then. Lot of debate about what when on during that return flight from Chicago. Most of plane didn't agree with smuda's version of events. Think the polish fa would get over it, Smuda no but then they have new manager
Well, first he must get a run of consistent performances in the PL, but Szczesny surely lacks real competition now and he badly needs it. Boruc, when in form, is certainly the best keeper we can field, he was IMMENSE during WC2006 and EURO2008, seconds short of single-handedly stopping Germany. The interesting thing is that we're playing England next October, roughly for the 40th anniversary of the historic match on Wembley where the proud Lions had to say good-bye to their World Cup's dreams. Then too we had a very eccentric goalie, labelled "the Clown" who made some flops early in the game but then pretty much won the thing for Poland. I wouldn't mind it happening again, but I presume things would look kind of different for most of you guys
