"Our supporters are a very important part of the club. I hope I can convince them with work and honesty."
Right, 3 facts we all need to remember... Cortese = ****er Adkins = Legend Pochettino = Our Manager Support the bloody team on Monday FFS!!
You are very good at being objective, I'll give you that, but it helps to balance it all out. I'm now (post shock) trying to look at the positives, one of which could be Pochettino's links with players in Spain and possibly Argentina I guess.
"If you're not going to engage on at least some level with the gist of my argument then I think we're done here." lol...your arguement? As I have already demonstrated you are just spouting ****ing nonsense.
I've not read the thread (because I imagine it's full of teenage-esque anger outbursts) but I agree with PTF's original post. I support Southampton, not Nigel Adkins.
Ha, well someone's got to put a positive spin on it! Don't get me wrong, I'm disappointed and sorry for Adkins, I had envisaged him being here for the long haul, but the board aren't idiots. They appointed Adkins after all, and if they saw this as an opportunity they couldn't turn down, then that gives me confidence. The only thing you've demonstrated is your extremely unpleasant character. I intended this to be a place of rational debate, and I think for the most part it has been, certainly more than the others on this topic. Maybe I'm kidding myself though
PTF - you have to appreciate people are angry and in shock at the treatment of someone that has been an unmitigated success at SFC and who, from all accounts, is an honourable and good man. I get where you're coming from, I really do, but it's going to be difficult to come to that reasoned state immediately. Of course I support SFC and I always will. Perhaps this is a masterstroke. Who knows. It just hurts a bit, that's all, when we seemed to be on the up. You probably need to cut everyone a little bit of slack for that.
I understand, and as I've already said, I'm disappointed too. But I don't see the point in dwelling on the bad news, let's look forward. I have sympathised with people who have been sympathetic to my point of view, but if people are going to call me a "****" and say I'm spouting "****ing nonsense", without even attempting to justify that claim, then they've forfeited their right to that sympathy I'm afraid.
Some over reacting of princess di proportions today, oh well, you never know this new bloke might be quite good !
" say I'm spouting "****ing nonsense", without even attempting to justify that claim" I did a lengthy post showing why you were talking nonsense but you ignored it. So get down off your high horse and stop your nonsense.
Obviously gutted. But... Welcome Mauricio and if you can carry on where Nigel left off lets hope we have a good journey ahead.
I understand your viewpoint, I also understand the viewpoint of people saying they are going to protest, never going to St. Mary's again, ripping up their season tickets etc., but where I disagree is the bit in bold. If in a week or two there's still endless droning on about how dreadful Cortese is and how this is a disgrace and so on then I could come round to this... But it happened like three hours ago, this is still people reacting, not 'dwelling'. There's a time to be upset, angry and look back and mourn on Nigel's time with us, that is now, and there is a time to look forward as you say, but that is in the coming days and on Monday night.
