Gus is expecting plenty of bids for some of his players, with CMS expected to be going. Hooper a player who wanted to come to Leeds for less than a million, is going to Norwich for £5m as Celtic have already got his replacement. Fraser Campbell going to bardiff for £650k - can't understand why we can't even afford him ..... Dimatteo lined up already for Lambert's job at Villa - if that happened GFH need to get him in as replacement for Warnock, as we need someone with a plan, someone who knows how to set a team up, someone who gets results without having bundles of cash, someone who gives youth a chance and someone who doesn't pick players because they can lump the ball the furthest.

GFH need to show some ambition if they do actually plan on getting us back where we belong. We're sick of shopping in bargain basement stores, where the only stuff left is past it's sell by date.

Promotion means a massive cash influx immediately - come on this league is shyte this season, and it will be easier than waiting for next season.

Doc, if/when Warnock does go, Di Matteo would be an ideal replacement Asto huch moey he'd need, that would depend on where we are & which league we're in. If we're in te chpionship, it won't take much to get us up. But if we're in the PL, we will need 2 or 3 major signings to ensure we get to 17th or betterin the first season back.

Boggers now that Bates is out of the picture, there would be players wanting to walk over broken glass to play for this club (If in the PL) The old Bates mantra of glass and war chests didn't wash with anyone except the gullible. get the chance to play for Stoke, Wigan, Leeds or Norwich? mmmm let me see ........

Pl cash, and huge gates every week means more cash available for wages etc, and plenty more than the 3 clubs just mentioned, and thats without breaking the finance rules ffs.

Question, if pl is such a cash cow, why are so many of the pl clubs running at a loss. Expenses are infinitely greater therefore profits get eaten up. Hope gfh have realised this too. PL football means pl wages dont forget and bigger squads. On the hooper thing, we were never going to be at the races trying to attract a player when a pl club is interested, especially if they were willing to spend 5 million

The Frazer Campbell situation is interesting. Out of contract this summer, Sunderland are desperate to get rid of him. Only 25 and an England international who could either be the steal of the century or a massive waste of time and money. Note though that the deal hasn't yet done through. And surely he would be asking for at least £40k a week in wages??? <yikes>

Not bad for an injury prone kid

Campbell would be a shocking signing. Always injured, done nothing.

Youn Fraser isn't on that sort of money, but admit he would be higher than we would want to pay. But he was a £5m player and by all accounts red nose only sold him because Welbeck came through, it was a coin toss. he hasn't had much luck hitting the net recently but has hardly played, so I think a good gamble at that money, especially if some schmuck is offering £2m for Luciano. Not like Cardiff need another striker is it, but they're obviously after him for a reason. Champ football would do him the world of good, and wonder if Bothroyd would drop back into the champs because it looks like Haryy wants him out. Another great option for us and knows Warnock well?

Celtic have turned down the £5m and expect to get more, so looks like he's going. We had the chance to have him well before Celtic, but Grayson couldn't raise the £800k for him ffs, so we finished up with Billy as Beckfords replacement.

Its not lack of ambition thats our problem, its total lack of money. GFH have nothing to put in.

Way I see it, they'll try winning promotion on the cheap for two or three seasons, like Bates did. If and when that doesn't work, they'll have to bite the bullet and either raise proper money for a promotion push or sell up to someone who can. Problem is, the longer were away from the pl, the less well look like a sleeping giant and attract any big players
