I was glad when Pardew was sacked, Adkins on the other hand :( .

As one from the other end of the M27 we dream of stability. You guys had it and seemed to be finding your feet in the PL and moving in the right direction, so it does seem a very perverese decision given all that Adkins has achieved with you. As I have said elsewhere, there is no loyalty of sentiment in the PL, nor does there seem to be any room for it, and this was obviously a planned move and not a knee-jerk reaction. As others say, Cortese has not got much wrong so far - after all, Adkins was an unpopular but subsequently inspired appointment. Time will tell whether Cortese has still got that Midas touch.

This was still the case when he made decisions you liked. Nothing has really changed. Most fans are in exactly the same boat.

Now that I've calmed down, there are a couple of points I'd like to make.

    - Guillem Balague is a very smart pundit with a great football brain, and he thinks Pochettino will be a good manager. I'm sure we'd all prefer Adkins, but that doesn't mean this new guy won't do well.

    - I think a lot of us owe Matt Le Tissier an apology.

Pardew was far more understandable. Yes, we won 4-0 just before he was sacked but our early season form generally wasn't up to scratch at that point. That's without even considering the rumours about off-field stuff.

I liked the bit about gmi being right. Let's not forget Matt Le Tissier was also right...

It seems a totally baffling decision. If he had hit a long losing streak fair enough, but it looks as if he was doing ok

Here's one definite positive: gomarchingin isn't around to tell us all how he was right all along and speculate that Adkins was sacked because he put 2 sugars in Cortese's tea instead of 1!

It doesn't look like it was a snap decision, he obviously had him lined up for a while. Regardless of form and he might have been too far along by the time our form picked up stop it.

Heard his comments about Pochettino, the only thing that's cheered me up today.

New signings will be key, I'd like to think some are in the pipeline.

Backroom staff gone. Spoke to Dean Wilkins in tunnel after Chelsea. He had been so excited about the team and the rest of season. #saintsfc

Looks like we're rebuiling everything behind the scenes.

Just out of curiosity what would you all have said if it had been common knowledge that NA was 'interested' in the Blackpool job?

Jesus, so he is. So much activity in here I hadn't seen that!

In that case it truly is a black day.

That he must've known that his time here was short. Blackpool isn't a terribly attractive place for a manager, as evidenced by the fact that they have had two poached in under six months.

Now that I've calmed down, I agree with you Joe. Pochettinio deserves a chance. I do hope the atmosphere at SMS won't be like Stamford Bridge. I know very little about him so it will be intriguing to see his tactics.
