I've said it on the other thread, but this emotional reaction is stupid and exactly the opposite of the process Cortese has gone through. It's nothing personal, he just, dispassionately, sees Pochettino as the man to take us to the next level. I hope he's right and I'll back him to do it. I'll never forget what Adkins did for us and I wish him luck in his future endeavours, but this is not the end of the world.
This is the most disgraceful action (apart from lowe coming back) that our club has ever taken. I feel quite sick that he should be treated like this after ALL HE HAS DONE for us. He has been one of the most honest, decent and hard working manager we have ever had, and it has been very clear that the fans and the players have felt the same. I wish him all the best, as he has a great and illustrious career ahead of him. WTF does Cortese think he's doing? I have always trusted in Sir Nigel and Nicola, now I dont know what to think.

As a Portsmouth fan I always found it hard to dislike Adkins. No idea why he was sacked tbh, the only think shifty about Saints this season was their defence, and you look to be fixing that in recent games. 2-2 with Chelsea away; I don't understand it. Just my two pence.

Is football just about going to the next level? It used to be about knowing and suporting your club based on values such as respecting you legends and having loyalty and trust between the management and fans. What are we going to become some souless corparte machine who just cast away legends without so much a thankyou just to climb a few posistions in the league table. If thats the case I'll suport Eastliegh because what the ****ing point in supporting a souless corpartate company.
I don't usually comment on other club's board, but this is a shocker. WTF does the owner/chairman want/expect? Really hope it doesn't cost you your place in the Premiership as I have enjoyed watching you this season. NA always seemed like a nice bloke with good knowledge. Why are people doubting Cortese judgment? His decisions regarding the football side of the club have been fantastic since we've been here. He obviously has big ambitions for us, he's also not the kind of person to make knee-jerk decisions. You all preach about loyalty to Adkins, but a lot of you show little loyalty to out of form players or squad players.
My phone is going crazy with texts, and my son has just told me thes awful bloody news - i am in shock and cant believe it ! Finding it very hard to accept right now. Thank you Nigel Adkins - you have been truely magnificent for this club and will always have a place close to real Saints fans hearts. There is only one Nigel Adkins !
