They are doing nothing wrong and nothing I wouldn't expect HCFC to do if the situation was reversed. The issue here is that playing the loan market is a dangerous game as well as an important game for a lot of clubs. We MUST sign Elmo right now if we want to maintain our push.
I doubt that SB will let that happen. 1.75 would be money well spent IMO and he would get him, Elmo knows us, seems to enjoy his football here and for me the big plus is our owners will raise his profile at home if we get promotion.
It's not true, he can't play for another club this season. Also, MON has said when he leaves the only place he will be going to is Hull City.
"Currently under the FIFA Transfer Regulations a football player is unable to play for more than three teams in one season. This applies whether the player has been transferred or simply is on loan with that club. This also applies regardless of what country that player has plied his trade in, whether that is in Europe, Africa or South America. As long as a player has represented a club in a league under the adjudication of a FIFA Member Association they will only be able to play for three different clubs. However, this does mean that a football player is free to represent a total of three different clubs in any league in the world over the course of one season."
We don't abide by those FIFA rules, we get round them by having an emergency loan window and we don't count emergency loans as one of the two clubs. Though they couldn't actually buy Elmo, they could agree to buy him, then wait until 93 days from the end of the season and take him on emergency loan. But that seems somewhat unlikely.
They could buy him, they just couldn't play him. He's already played for two clubs this season, the only way he can play for a third club, is if it's on an emergency loan(as these don't count as part of the two club rule).
If it is £1.75m then that's an absolute steal. I'd much much rather we had signed Elmo than Brady if they're around the same asking price. And as good as Meyler is - and he's very good - we do actually have other people who can play centre mid just not as well. Tom, Oli and McKenna would get in plenty of teams at this level. We dont actually have anyone who can play Elmo's role.
