If the forecast is correct, what chances are that Saturday's game will be called off, a good thing for us with the players having an expected rest, with Chelsea v Arsenal playing Sunday (hopefully) this could mean we're a lot fresher going into Wednesday game ,as the ad says "every little helps"
I'd be happy for Saturdays game to be off, the lads could do with a bit of a rest. We did look a bit leggy last night.
Volunteers may be needed down the Liberty to shovel snow onto the pitch (Have to admit I pinched this quip off someone on another site.)
It's not so much the pitch but the infrastructure around, if we get snow and a fair bit it's going to knock transport and safety in and around the stadium
Yep pitch will be Ok, but it's all about the infrastructure and my most three hated words "Health and Safety", old bill will probably have something to say as well.
Tiredness. Pull the other one. Yes we've had a lot of games, but these are athletes in prime condition we're talking about, not unfit knackers like us. Don't hear Tennis players complaining they're tired after playing three 2 hour matches in a week do you ? I want the game to go ahead. We have to play it at some point. If we miss it now then we end up with a busy week somewhere else.
There is a difference between tennis and football though, football is a contact sport that needs a different kind of fitness to tennis players.
the pitch should be fine that is not a problem. the problem will be whether stoke can get here and the fans will they have trouble travelling. the way its looking probably all matches will be called off...
tiredness is a load of old pony.....try working 12 hour shifts every day...they get more time off to rest than father xmas. if they decide to go on the piss or gambling then that's their problem....
Well it seems the weathermen got this one right for a change! A good 4 inches fallen so far in just 2 1/2 hours and expected to carry on for at least another 3 hours. This wind is causing drifting already. The pitch should be fine come matchday, but will Stoke be able to travel today? This weather report was brought to you today by Swimaway Ltd (who had already booked today off. I guess I shall just have to show the kids how to use their sled properly!)
there's a fair bit in central Swansea but it's gonna stop soon and that's it. (According to 3 different weather reports). The game could still go ahead... hope not
When? Wish I hadn't moved from the Marina. Tycoch is like the frigging Alps. Drove to town this morning and the main roads are OK if you can get down to them. Couldn't get back up the hill though and had to leave the car. Match should be on though I've heard the M4 is closed at Bridgend so Stoke may have a problem getting here. Safe travels if you're out and about.
I'm up Tycoch as well! (As if the name doesn't give that away), deep here! But my girlfriend has basically no snow 5 minutes drive away.
