I will come clean at the start - I dont support Man Utd. I dont really strongly support anybody. I have been an amused observer of British football for the last few years.... My question to you guys is, honestly, do you think as a nation we are getting thicker? Do people not understand the meaning of the word 'propaganda'? Do people not realise that such a large proportion of the football following country are chasing after the media like a flock of sheep waiting to be spoonfed the latest load of bull**** that skysports or the BBC deem newsworthy. i have just sat through 10 minutes of SKYSPORTS news, listening to fans, pundits and managers criticise Alex Ferguson for talking to the refere. For. talking. to. the. referee. Sorry, I'm being melodramatic. He was being criticised for confronting the referee in an aggressive manner. 'Shock manager gets angry at referee story leaves football world flabbergasted.' Do the fans not realise they are only saying how 'irate' they are because they ahve spent the last 3 days hearing how disgusting it was? Have any of them considered the fact that, possibly, if the BBC and SKYSPORTS hadnt been banging on about it for 3 days they would have had no idea what it was they were 'disgusted' about? Have any of these self righteous fans ever taken the time to monitor the behaviour of their own managers/players throughout a match? Listening to them all go on you would swear that every manager is knelt in the dugout like an alterboy at church from minute 1 to minute 90. If anybody wants to run a 4 hour documentary about why the behaviour of ALL players, managers and coaches towards officals should have no place in football I am all ears. Its this indignation when 5 live decide to give publicity to one particular incident involving one high profile manager all the nay sayers come out of the closet with their agog, aghast cry - 'A MANAGER SHOUTED AT A REF?! WHAT?!?' The agenda all comes down to the simple fact that as the most succesful club you are the most hated. People want reasons to hate. These are the same people that spend entire seasons ranting in pubs that referees all favour man utd then hastily change the subject when you have a perfectly good goal disallowed and win anyway. In a way its human nature. In another way it makes intelligent debate regarding your club practically impossible. I will be back, amused and hysterical, the next time an opponent has a goal wrongfully disallowed against you, akin to your goals against man city and whoever else it was this year. i await with amusement the 3 hour radio phone in, the 3 week sky sports inquisition, the 15 page daily mail articles about why 'refs all favour man utd because ferguson is a bad man, look what he did against newcastle. What man city game?.......' and Alan Green having an orgasm on air. Anyway this article is way into fergie time now so i wll shut up. When's that obligatory penalty when I need it?
Fair enough ^^^ However, being SAF he is expected to behave like a saint. I for one enjoy the pretend outrage that the chavs and scousers feel. District line that moronic miserable c**t (internet buffoon extraordinaire) has more reason to moan and whinge about united
Football fans are fickle bunch, when there's a negative news story about their own club it's often not worth the paper its written on or its all lies, but as soon as those same media outlets print a story about one of their rivals they are in full support. What I find amusing about this news story regarding Fergie is that he's getting a lot of stick for waving his arms a bit while confronting the officials, yet nobody seems to mention that in the same game Pardew was in the officials face when he thought that goal was going to be ruled out and he was at it again, along with his entire staff, when he wanted Valencia to see a red card. Everyone seems to expect Fergie to behave differently from other managers simply because he has a title before his name, at the end of the day he is still just a football manager, and most football managers these days like to have a moan at the officials, even the great Barcelona who are one of the worst for it, their staff, players and substitutes surround the officials regularly when they want a decision.
its always the same look how many dodgy decisions other clubs have had and how many decisions have gone against us. we have had nothing this season but its due, just wait and see how much of a huge deal is made about it and everyone will yet again go on about how the ref gives us everything we only win titles because of the ref blah blah blah.. i do think its funny how pissed off everyone gets but thats what happens because its united and its all over the back of the papers and sky sports news have it on a loop
To be fair this is what makes football in this country interesting. Every action from anyone involved gets pages of newsprint. Worldwide! It also gives fans an opportunity to wind up other fans. Some like that ******ed c*nt District line starts multiple threads about United but cannot take it when he gets some in return.
I'm hoping we absolutely rob an opponent through dodgy decisions from the officials just so the usual numbskulls come out with their ever so witty and original comments on all officials always favouring Man Utd whilst conveniently forgetting all those decisions that have gone against Man Utd in recent weeks and those decisions their own sides have benefited from.
It's not just the thickness, it's the hypocrisy. As soon as the offaide flag goes up, Pardew is in the official's ear until he gets the goal given and no one gives a ****. Can you imagine the whining had SAF badgered an official until he got the decision he wanted? Yet Pardew is some sort of hero for claiming SAF should be banned for doing exactly what Pardew did! In the same vein anyone in the media who supports SAF is somehow 'in' on the massive conspiracy in our favour whilst anyone who criticises him is unquestionably right and bravely standing up to the forces of darkness. I'm not sure it's thickness as much as being completely one eyed and jealous of how much SAF has achieved, and how long he's kept us at the top for.
We can't say that it is down to jealousy because that would be arrogance. No-one could ever be jealous of the biggest and most successful club in their country.
Except the Chavs and scousers. The Chavs who were found to be the worst and most undeserving winners of the CL in the history of the competition. In fact they disgraced the country this year with their uselessness they were wet pussies (and that would be unfair to pussies )
