New FC Bayern Munchen manager from the summer. Has signed a three year deal.

I've been saying it since the day he left Barca, he would only end up in one place and that was Munich.

Tried to tell the scum fans on several occasions but they wouldn't listen <laugh>

    Unlucky Roman!

Thing with Pep is, I don't think anyone really knows if he's a decent manager or not. He is lauded with praise but 90% of managers in the world would steamroll the league and competitions with Barca's team. Now he's moving to a team that dominates German football, where no doubt he'll win the league again. It would give a much greater indication of how good a manager he is if he went to Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs and won the league with them imo.

I really did not see this coming. Really thought he was Chelsea or City bound. WOW

He's missed out on his preferred job. So he's gone to Bayern for a few years until Harry retires and leaves an opening.

I am surprised by this, had a feeling he would end up going back to Spain to manage Barca or RM

Scum getting "The Special One" back, who is not so special now. With the squad he has at Real Madrid this season, they should be level with Barca, but are miles behind on all fronts.

If the media (in England) had for once did their job this wouldn't come as a shock to most <doh>

Reading Guardiola's quotes over the years and after he left Barca he has several times said (between the lines) that FC Bayern would be his dream job after Barca. His agent ****ed up actually when he said that they were talking to Bayern, and this was last summer!

Everything is in place for him in Munich, best set up at any club in the world. A playing staff only matched by Barcelona.

And Bayern in their typical German way had planned for this and everyhing was arranged so that this was going to happen. The contract Jupp Heynckes was given was only a one year contract as soon as Guardiola announced his departure from Barcelona.

2+2 usually adds up to 4. Except when the English tabloids are involved.

The day that keeps on giving, all it needs now is for rafa to get a five year contract and a coach full of supermodels to break down outside my house and need a place to stay for the night!

Absolutely Thor. It just goes to show how powerful the media is. If it wanted to it could get the people to believe anything.

I thought everyone knew he was off to Bayern? As Norway states above, after his agent said as much last summer.

One of these days, one of these multimillionaires who have won everything possible (due in no small part to the fact that their bosses could afford to buy for them whoever they fancied) will step up to the challenge of trying to do it all over again with a small unfancied team on a shoestring budget. I think it's safe to say that if, say Warnock or Holloway suddenly had the riches of a club like Barcelona at his disposal he might well fall short of the task of delivering the success that their fans have come to expect.

However reverse the situation. Would Guardiola be able to turn us into world beaters without the millions at his disposal. I have my doubts. Come on Pep. Step up to the line and take your best shot. The door will still be open for you when you have tired of your new German hosts.

He's bottled it, that's what he's done! Taken another of the easiest jobs in European football. Only job easier than that is celtic, if you want to guarantee league titles and such like.......

Realistically, the real challenge for someone like him would be to go to somewhere like us, without the riches, or Arsenal because they won't sacrifice their principles to buy success in the way that Chelsea/United and City have done. Then we'd really be able to judge his abilities.

Happen to think Tito Vilanova is a better manager than PG! In PG's first season he had a win rate of 67.74% with Barca and TV currently has an 87.1% win rate in his first season.

But it does mean the scum fans are stuck with Rafa....must be tough for them being in the FAC 4th Rd and potentially 3 points off 2nd place tonight which is progress from where they were when he took over. Would love it if he just said F*** you I'm off and going somewhere I'll be appreciated. I struggle to imagine any club treating a new manager the way he's been - fair reflection of the standards at that place though....
Even George Graham got a fairer hearing when he want to Spuds from Arse.....now SAF to Liverpool could be interesting
