1 up front was a complete joke Martin. That was an utter disgrace tonight. No excuses and well done Bolton.

Still, moving on then, Wigan Saturday?

PS - Catts Man of the Match for a 10 min cameo. We only livened up when the skipper came on and that mazy little dribbling run was our highlight of the evening.

Looked asthough MON wasn't taking the cup serious this season... When was the last time MON started Wickham upfront on his own in the premier league? So why therefore tonight if the team wasn't being weakened? Perhaps survival is the focus with much grander objectives in the future.

Bring on Wigan and let's get a safer position in the league.

This seemed like MON had players out on the pitch on a trial. Please don't shoot me for saying this but the mig, aj, sess, and McClean were the only players that were playing in their right positions.

This was a shocking display. First half it was all about dead balls, second half there was nothing. Mark my word you will not see Wickham in a Sunderland shirt unless Fletcher is injured. He totally balls-up a chance given to him. I'm not blaming him for the display but just using him as an example for how poor we were. Such a shame for the lad too. None of our back 4 were our back 4 we really are in a pickle. You watch, we'll go and beat Wigan away now.

Oh we'll, lets move on but I think we will see another 4 players in and 3 out. Wickham must go out on loan otherwise it will finish him.

Think Cattermole is the only one who gives a ****.

Different class when he's on form.

Wickham is only 19, inconsistency will be a part of his game at that age.. Wonder when oneil will try 2 upfront? His negative tactics can sometimes be very frustrating.. Oh well, Everton would have knocked us out anyway.

The saddest thing about tonight for me was that Bolton were dire as well and we still couldn't beat them, absolute ****ing ****e, in fact, that's an injustice to ****e.

What the **** MON sees in McClean i just don't know, he runs around like a headless chicken, constantly giving the ball away or getting caught in possession, couldn't cross a road never mind a ball into the box. Get rid MON, he's not EPL class and never will be.

We're down to the bare bones in defence. I think some key players were rested ahead of the Wigan game

Having not seen the game, only listened to it & read comments of those there, I’d say they all had a rest <whistle>

It was nearly as bad as watching Newcastle and Brighton.
I agree that McClean is not up to standard, every time he got the ball the play broke down, and Whickham appeared to be injured.
Bad day all round apart from Cattermole coming on, too late to change the game but at least we know he's fit again.

Why would Mig want to stay with a team who do not try to win every game. Think he will be off.
