If you get a Samsung the first thing to do is get an app that turns off your data connection quickly and easily so that it doesn't use up your allowance doing updates in the background over night (I connect it to the wifi when I'm at home so it does it then). Can't remember what mine was called, but the icon is a red arrow pointing down next to a green arrow pointing up so you'll see it easily in the app store. It was free, and all I have to do to turn data on or off is tough the icon on the screen. It glows when the data is on and goes dark when it's off so you know straight away if you've forgotten to switch it.
One of his most memorable quotes that one. Good ol' Karl. Mussie mate, Kingston Retail Park is free parking, just get there early to make sure you get a spot. I went into there, you talk to the workers in store about what you want, what Tariff, type of phone, what you want (i.e. x amount of texts/internet/calls) and they find the perfect one for you. They even bring one out for you so you can test it, I ended up with the iPhone, but my sister has the Samsung Galaxy SII and I think it's brilliant. The Samsung Galaxy Note is pretty handy too.
Sorry to be slightly off-topic on this but got my I-pad today (the poker prize) put it on Amazon and it sold within the hour. Then I heard my brother wanted to buy it off me and my stepdad was interested too. What is it with Apple products?! The Ipad had no USB slot, no microsd slot, and I heard the things don't even run Flash. Think I'm missing something here. Each to their own I suppose!
I haven't had an iPad, but I have the iPhone. It comes with a charger, which is a USB Cord that can be put into a Plug or detached and it has the USB port which then could be plugged into a computer for file transferal and such. Hope that helps.
3g watchdog is a really good app for that , though you dont need the feature on the newer Samsung phones as there is a mobile network on/off button on the notification bar , its still a great app to keep track on your data useage each month , also you can have the app alert you when you are close to a monthly limit . The new phones also come with this feature in the settings , but its still nice to have 2 checking your usage - to be sure
Oh right, cheers, didn't know that. Seems like people are mad for these I-pads though. Was half tempted to keep it myself till the thought of the money instead kicked in!
Phones 4 U is not a good place to buy from. They're highly commission based pushy sales kids and getting away from them later on is ridiculously hard.
They were good for me, they beat any deal offered directly by the networks by some margin. I agree it's not a pleasant experience shopping there though!
If you want a tablet and don't have the pathetic anti-apple agenda that seems to be trendy at the moment then the iPad is the best hands down. Tablets half the price will do half the job, for a lot people that's all they want, so they sell well. As you say, if your not bothered the money is far more useful!
Sorry but that's just bollocks. There is not a single thing in that statement that's correct. Sums up a lot of Apple users sadly. Oh and some of us have always despised Apple, it's not a recent thing
Your hardly going to be impartial then are you! I'm not going to go compare the technical specs and features as it's largely subjective and we'd never agree! For what it's worth I'm neither pro or anti apple, they make some good stuff and they make some overpriced crap. The iPad however is one of their successes and without it there wouldn't be the vast tablet market out there is today.
Each to their own I guess, I've used the transformer and it's a smart bit of kit, it was OS and the App Store which makes the iPad the choice for me. Android tablets will always struggle in comparison until the dominance of iTunes/App Store can be matched.
Galaxy SII all the way mate. Had mine since the initial release and I still love it. I bought the larger battery (and back). I could upgrade now but I prefer the thin SII. Used windows phone (my son's) and iPhone (wife's). You should get a great deal on it as well 'cos it getting a bit old.
Apple are great at two things. Taking existing products and making sexier. Tablet computers, Phones and MP3 players where out years before The Ipad, Iphone and Ipod. They're also great made marketing products. Spec wise the Galaxy S3 and Note 10.1 blow the 4S and Ipad out the water. Android as a OS far more customable, IOS you're stuck with what you've got.
as things stand, i am favouring Xperia T, although from what i am told, the Xperia S is just as good, cheaper but not available anymore!!!
It's interesting to me how much people love them, like I say had half the family beating my door down for mine. Good job I didn't open it and start playing with it I reckon I would have got the bug too! I have a cheapo NATPC android tablet myself and I love it, cost 60 quid second hand, I put a 16 gig microsd card in it, watch films and all sorts. Would recommend these cheapo ones so long as you check the reviews are mostly good and don't want state of the art photos and stuff like that.
