BZ should just about be fit anytime now. AJ will be fit around the last week of March. Personally, I don't think either should be given a shirt in the 25. If the roles were reversed I would take a risk on AJ, he offers a lot more. But as it stands I would write the pair of them off. Two bad signings that most of us on here predicted, with an average £30k per year income ( Us that is. ) what the outcome would be. But not £3.5m per year Mark Hughes, who apparently knew better than us.
Lets not forget we might go down and these are the players we will need in the championship.DJ,Betty,Zamora,AJ will be a handful in the CCC.
Harry said that getting Zamora back would be like having a new signing but at the moment I'd have to say new signings would be our best bet for any chance of staying up. Zamora isn't going to get the 15-20 goals we need and any goals have to be ones that win games. I don't have the time to look at the stats but it would be interesting to see what goals he scored that won us matches (or at least contributed to winning). I wouldn't be surprised if AJ never plays for us again, even if he gets back to fitness I wouldn't put him in the team and he'll be out the door in the summer unless he fancies championship football.
disagree about zamora...thought he has played well for us at times and will definately offer something up front...would welcome him into the 25
Zamora had his moments last season and if we're being kind it could be that his truly pants performances this term are down to playing with an injury before he was finally forced to get surgery. Hard to overlook just how poor he was however. Johnson looked just what we needed in the 30 minutes or so he played for us against the Scum. Won't play again this season but well worth keeping either for the Championship or the bench if we stay up.
Agree with this, the problem we have had since he got injured was that the ball was not sticking up front and it was plain to see this on Saturday as soon as we cleared it we were defending again 90% of the time, at least with BZ he would sheild the ball and bring others in to play and help us keep the ball rather than lose it again as soon as it is cleared. WHY Hughes ever sold HH was a loss to me as he was great at this sort of play and though he was not the greatest he did the job well and could score every now and then.
Yeh I wondered how fit he were when his jumping and mobility went way down on what he'd been doing early season. I never been a huge admirer of BZ (Adel seems to be doing so much better in a similar role), but expect he'll be one of 3 or 4 strikers in the 25, especially when Harry said what he did.
