If all goes to plan we will nab Remy excluding any more twists. My theory is that the M'vila story will not go through as it is just a smoke screen to distract what were HR's real intentions i.e. Remy besides we have M'bia, Faurlin, Granero, Diakite & Derry all able to play in this position. Secondly we are being linked with Dawson, Bramble, Olsson, Hangeland who maybe are 2nd or 3rd choices as I just have a feeling these are also smoke screens because the real target is the one and only Chris Samba. Just a gut feeling.
Possibly agree with first part... .but Samba is well out of our league, always was...the only chance was when Sparky was here...Samba liked Sparky....now no chance
it was reported that Diakite would be part of the deal to get M'vila to Hoops, so it would be a midfielder swap. Really would hate to see Diakite go, his forward runs are great, and he's only getting better too, as long as he gets some game time.
Which samba we talking about? If we are talking about diakate, so we should be happy to trade him with M'bia. Diakite is good player but so unpredictible and seems that his thoughts are too much in france. M'vila should be better option.
Referring to wages specifically, samba rumoured to be on 250k a week in Russia plus won't be interested in short term deal
Mate he's only 250k a week because it's so friggin cold in mother Russia. The weather itself cost 100k a week. The racial abuse cost them another 100k. So 50k a week and Samba is ours
Signing players is just like fishing. If you need to catch a certain number in a short space of time you don't use a couple of rods, you use a bloody great net. You know that some will slip through the net, some won't worth the money and so you chuck them back. Some will manage to avoid the net altogether. But at the end of the day you should have a selection to choose from and the rest go back. Let's save we really want Remy. It is pointless to dangle a line to him alone because if we don't catch him or spend too long trying (and it doesn't come off) that will leave us less and less time to go after someone else. We've seen this before. A club goes after one player and after a couple of weeks that proves to be a no go, so they go after another and that falls through and all of a sudden they are signing any old crap - or nobody at all - in the ten minutes before the deadline. I am sure that there are quite a few in the net - some better than others. Some we know about, some we don't and some just the figment of some journos imagination. Hopefully there will be someone who has slipped under the radar who can come in as a CB. It will be interesting to see who goes out of the door.
I thought it was 100K per week and if that is the case he may well drop 20-30K per week for a better life, BUT it would be such a hardship for the poor chap
I hate fishing but i did catch a stickleback and a gudgeon once in the canal.... since i've been here i caught a few barramundi....same thing isnt it ?
Agree Eamon, however you are forgetting the net does not need to be so big as we already have a back up plan in the guise of no pulse Hulseman
Sorry Flanman, I think you might be putting 2 & 2 together and making 15. I reckon we will be getting Remy AND M'Vila both with relegation get out clauses.......and Samba is nowhere on the radar for us this window so Harry will have other targets in mind (Olssen being the main one) But of course this is Rangers so ANYTHING can happen
