Stephens definantly looks one of our better players. Him and Isgrove are the only one to really come out with any credit so far. Maybe Taggart also. Barnard really does look poor. But he has had basically no service
Better of the centre-back pairing but don't think there's been anything to particularly write home about, been decent but don't think he's really left any mark although hard to do so with Liverpool camped in our half.
Biggest thing in this game is it shows how naive we are, Liverpool look so more carm and experienced then us.
Midfield seem to lack any sort of ball control, and lack of decision making. Barney could do with some support up front.
Well I was watching the highlights of the Villa game on Saints Player and the tweet only came up 20 seconds ago.
I think its a combination of that and we have just been physical beaten in this game. Looks to me like all the Liverpool players are 6 foot and impressive physically. Beaten in the middle of the park, Moore and Curtis have been bullied off the ball, the Liverpool striker has physically dominated our centre backs and their centre backs have had Barnard in their pockets. However at 1-0 you never know!
One thing that I think is important to note, although it does feel like clutching at straws, unless im mistaken our team is fully made up of british players (other than Seidi who came on late) where as Pools team are packed full of Foreign players. I'd rather see our young local lads given a chance rather than foreign imports
Liverpool are a much bigger and stronger team, really bad finishing by them or could have been 3 or 4. We really had no control on the game at all
