http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-turn-to-sunderland-defender-titus-1532396 QPR are continuing their hunt for a new centre-back â with Titus Bramble a top target, writes the Sunday People. Râs boss Harry Redknapp wants strong men in defence as he fights the drop. The Sunderland player has emerged as a possible signing since Harryâs bid for West Bromâs Jonas Olsson was rejected, as he fears he will not be able to lure William Gallas from Spurs. Bramble, 31, has started only three times in the league and is out of contract in the summer. Martin OâNeill is willing to let him leave for virtually nothing as Brambleâs contract states that he must be offered a new deal if he plays five more games. OâNeill wants to cut the Black Catsâ wage bill, and Bramble will move if Rangers are willing to offer decent terms. However, any player now going to Loftus Road must accept a pay cut if they drop into to the Championship. Meanwhile, QPR are on the verge of taking Jake Livermore on loan from Tottenham. Redknapp reckons the 23-year-old midfielder can help him to steer the Hoops clear of the drop zone. Livermore made his England debut against Italy in August and started the first three games of the season for Spurs, but then picked up an injury and since his return in October has seen Moussa Dembele and Sandro push ahead of him in the pecking order. Got to say I can see this coming off as Titus can lose himself in the big smoke and he can move closer to his home for the rest of his career. If it does happen, then I can see another central defender coming in as well as Mangane. We have to clear the decks and this is part of that.
We cannot afford any defenders leaving at the moment with the injury list in defence, and certainly not Titus.
Im a huge fan of Brambles and would be gutted to see him go. Possibly the most under rated defender in the league
Would be my 1st choice CB ahead of JOS, Killa, Cuellar etc but I believe it may be more a financial factor than anything else.
Wouldn't like to see him go vastly underated. Micko why will he end up in court never been found guilty.
If we bring in 1 maybe 2 CBs in the window then yes let him go, at the minute though with our injuries it would be stupid.
There's no smoke without fire and he is a massive risk to the name of our good club. Good player, yes but his outside life far outweighs that. I will be glad to see the back of him.
How many times has he been in trouble for reasons of similar circumstances. I happen to know exactly what he is like when he's out on the tiles going back to his Newcastle days. He is a liability. I don't doubt his talent on the pitch. He is our most natural defender, the game comes very natural to him, which imo is why he tends to switch off (less so than he used too however).
As a full retrospective judgement, has he been a good signing or a bad signing then? For me he has been a real mixed bag, but his off the field antics tip the balance. Bye bye
