Isn't Remy like Ben Arfa in that he's only one footed (right). I've heard that a number of times already when reading reports on the net and hearing it on the tele?

That will obviously effect other peoples line-ups and stuff if true.

The best place for Obertan is on the bench preferably at another club

I'm guessing Obertan will get dropped. Pardew loves Jonas, for some reason, so I'd guess he'll start. If Remy and Cabaye start ill be very happy. We should have more than enough to beat Reading.

If not, and we continue playing turgid football, Pardew can't be long for the job. That said, I didn't think the Norwich game was as bad as people make out. We didn't lose and that was the most important thing. Stop the rot.

I think Remy will play on the right and Ben Arfa when fit will play the no 10 role.

No chance. I genuinely worry about what'll happen when Ben Arfa gets back. I reckon Pards would drop Krul and put Jonas in net before he omitted him from the team. Crackers

I agree but I'm even concerned with what he will do prior to Ben Arfa coming back. Jesus I think he'll drop Marv you know !!! Pardew is a poor manager when it comes to team selections and subs and for me that at the level of football we are in spells disaster.

Also Remy is going to get pressure heaped on him big style and he's new to the league so if he doesn't start well people will sharp get on his back and make it worse as they always do with pricey name signings.

It was just back to basics which is what is required when you have been shipping goals like we have. Start from a solid base and you'll always have a chance. Play basketball football and you'll drain the will out of your team. We can't just go on conceding goals immediately after scoring. Last season that 11 game unbeaten run was turgid at times but provided a solid base for the season. I was over the moon with the point and the clean sheet.

I agree I think Jonas will remain. I had high hopes as he started well against Norwich and I thought maybe the rest had done him good. It did not continue. In fairness we were so negative (as I say I'm personally pleased we were) the likes of him, Obertan and Cisse had little to work with. Having a shocking season though after a serious dip in his level from last year.

Have to say Cisse's touch was worrying in terms of playing that lone role. Hopefully Remy can add a bit of power as well as pace from the left sided role a la Demba last year.

Personally, I think Marveaux has really shone in the central AM role - I don't think he's ever looked as good on the wing - he doesn't track back enough. I think by giving him the role behind the striker he doesn't have the duty to defend and so he can just work his magic. Makes it a tough call as that's where I'd like to see Cabaye play but how about:

    ----------------------Krul-------------------
    The BOOSH--San lorenzo's Colo--Willo--Santo
    --------------Anita-------Dreamboat--------
    ---------------------Marv-------------------
    Dancing Remy---------------------Big Head
    -------------Papiss Demba Cisse------------

Perchy to come on and tighten things up if needed, HBA to come in for obertan when fit.

In my most zenophobic tone possible, don't all these French players have weak hearts? Boom boom.

You may have just touched on Mike's get out clause. "Well we tried to sign him but then the medical.......................Ben Arfa is like a new signing though"

In all seriousness I think this was all cleared up when he first signed for Marseille. I think they had specialists look at it and they said it should be no barrier to his footballing career. Until I see him on the club website holding the shirt I refuse to believe.

Because Pardew can't see what's going on on the pitch at all! if he gets the tactics right and we go ahead all well, however if he gets it wrong he is incapable fo making tactical changes during the game and even worse he doesn't learn from it.

    He's a pleb

I am very sceptical still. I have a feeling this deal will fall through for some reason.

Once we have sold Colo and Santon the this signing will do us no good whatsoever.
