Great win yesterday so what next? No Adam or Jose and Shaw a possible miss. So bar Luke do we start with the same team as yesterday or......? Personally I think we should have a real go at them. Their crowd will turn quickly. Views?
Shaw is a real doubt...even if nothing major, he will have a swollen leg which will stiffen before it can recover. He may get back for Everton. Fox must be slathering at a chance to play. Not sure how Adkins will go for this...he certainly won't want a repeat of the Cup match. Possession and attack early is his usual method, but we may have to spend a lot of time in our own half. Wouldn't be surprised if we score first, but can't see us then holding out as we did against Villa.
I think the same team but with fox in and maybe put morgan and/or cork in a more holding role is the way to go
Chelsea v Southampton REFEREE Michael Oliver LINESMEN S Burt & P Kirkup 4TH OFFICIAL H Webb What is this guys reputation on simulation? He will have his work cut out in this game.
Yes let's hope he's not influenced by all the press coverage. We will need all the luck we can get in this game!
This storm in a tea cup needs to die down now anyway. Nigel made it quite clear where he stands on diving & for me J-rod does not dive, he moves his leg to avoid contact & does not appeal, in fact his cute little ball is heading to our player when the ref makes the call to blow up. Its a nothing sitation, & after Young & Suarez start leaping around today, we'll not get another mention. There, done & dusted.
Do we have to worry about Luke Shaw being missing as we have another one ready on the production line Matt Targett? Got to be better than playing Fox?
Have to agree wasn't shaws first start this season against Stevenage or something like that and he was given the run around
We have to go quite defensive and try to nick a result like qpr did. I'd play a 4-5-1, same team as yesterday but with davis coming in for rodriguez, and fox in for shaw depending on his injury.
You could say the samething about fox he was beening taken apart by opposing teams earlier in the season. Yes I know Matt doesnt have the experience but then did Luke really have that much experience before coming into the first team? I could understand if he had been on a years loan before hand to gain experience. Atleast put Matt on the bench if Fox is suffering we could bring on Matt.
Ramirez went off yesterday holding his hamstring, would be worried if we started with Fox and De Ridder on left side!!
Boruc Clyne - Hooiveld - Yoshida - Fox Puncheon - Cork - Davis - Schneiderlin - Ramirez (or Guly if he's back but Gaston isn't) Rodriguez
-------------Boruc Clyne, Yoshida, Hoovield, Fox ----------Cork, Schneiderlin Puncheon---------------------Guly -------------Lambert ---------------------- ------------Rodriguez Rodriguez has to play striker. We need someone to chase after everything and press the ball all game. Lambert can't do that at all. Lambert needs to play deeper again and play plenty of balls for Rodriguez to run for like he did against Villa. Which leaves only LM open for Ramirez. But I'd prefer Guly there for his defending and keeping of possession. Very important considering Shaw is out and Hoovield played LCB last game. Ramirez could make an impact from the bench
