well done to Wagstaff yesterday getting on the scoresheet, regardless of whether it was a tap in or not, he was in the right place to score. It'll be interesting to see how he does at Blackburn next week though I have to say I was very impressed when Harriot came on, a great cameo performance!

He wears the shirt with pride, works hard and is what you expect from all players in the team. Something that we missed on our downward spiral, but I honestly believe this will be short lived. He is a nice lad as I've spoken to him which means I don't get any pleasure saying that I do not think he is good or consistent enough for Championship football.

Hey, I'd like to be proven wrong but I think there is a slim chance of that.

I'd just like to say to our fans who were jumping up and down yesterday on twitter etc which comments along the lines of "I've told you so".....it's just one game, been here before I'm afraid.

I'm now going to take cover from the missiles being targeted at my *secret location....

I don't expect him to get a run in the team. As we saw yesterday he's got an eye for goal but for a winger his crossing has always let him down.Glad he got his goal yesterday, but Harriott's cameo, which Upper North liked so much they already have a song for him, may well put him ahead of Waggy for a start at LM.

I assume you are writing about Waggy here, not Harriott? If so, I agree. And we need to wait at least another twelve months before passing judgment on Harriott.

In many ways I agree, but in others I don't.

Waggy has always been poor at crossing and never takes on the full-back. Neither of these are necessarily detrimental if he is to be playing on the left-wing (as a right footed player). By their nature, right-footed players on the left always cut inside - something which Waggy does (much to my frustration) when on the right. Given he has a decent eye for goal and a lot of pace, his cutting inside provides a constant threat, as he can easily then sprint towards the box (leaving the full back in an awkward body position and thus left behind), and consequently can either take a shot, which given his goal ratio could easily hit the net, or use his pace to drag centre-backs out of position, and away from our forward duo.

For those reasons (and given how much debate has been given about where Waggy should considering his future; RM/CAM/CF), I think he can be a successful left-winger for us. Perhaps not a long-term solution, but he's miles ahead of Kerkar in terms of ability, and Jackson has found his more natural position in CM.

Ah, thanks. That is what confused me. I don't expect that on here. :)

Not even on the bench any more. Looks like his days are numbered. I think even his detractors must feel a bit sorry to see him go......

I'm mystified as to why, after he was resurrected and playing well, he's suddenly dropped out of contention - I mean, when Kerkar is preferred to you on the bench and comes on, the writing really is on the wall.

Kerkar is naturally left-footed and can also play at LB so offered better cover from the bench. Don't forget Kerkar is a CP signing. Waggy isn't.

Maybe CP wanted one last look at Kerkar before deciding to get rid. If so, he did well enough for another run. Or maybe some club is interested in signing him and wanted to see him in action.

I can understand not playing Waggy and getting rid of him. What I could not understand was bringing him back after he had done nothing at Brentford, putting him in the team on the left, then dropping him again after he had done quite well. What was that supposed to achieve?

Maybe Waggy (or his formidable mum) has mouthed off too often about not being given a chance. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes, and quite right too.

Not particularly. Football is a ruthless, and sometimes brutal, profession. Like many jobs that pay well (police, armed forces, showbiz, debt collecting, etc) you need a thick skin.

I reserve my pity for promising young lads like Tutt and Davisson who were denied a career by injury.

Wagstaff has had chance after chance over several seasons. He has proved he is good, but not good enough. His main asset was speed, but he resolutely refused to use it to full effect, beat the fullback on the outside and whip in a cross from near the goalline. Wouldn't matter so much that his crossing is poor if he did it often enough. Some of them were bound to come off. Instead he would persistently check back or dribble inside into traffic.

Now if that was not his fault, but poor coaching, then that is a good reason for him to move elsewhere. I wish him luck, but he is Div One standard at best. Wilson is no more gifted but uses what he has better, and is also a very adequate replacement for Solly at RB.

So if I am sad, it is because Waggy did not develop well enough, not because he is going.
