As good a spy as he was a manager judging by Villa's results.

While it was a dire game to watch, I'm going with the glass half full approach.

    We didn't lose away.
    Clean sheet.
    Cabaye played.
DeBuchy looked pretty good for his first game.

I'm going to boldly predict that our season turns around today.

Poke someone in the eye with a pizza box??

I was too nauseous to fall asleep. The only positive for me was that they made the A-League look brilliant by comparison. (The A-League is awful, FYI.)

I was caught between watching the game on TV and going to a birthday party. I am glad I chose the latter, yet I still wasted 90minutes watching the damned replay today. Horrible horrible game to watch.

    Why the one star....?????????

Seriously you turds need to get a grip.... The reality is that at this moment in time the ****e that pardew is dishing up for us week in week out is just not acceptable. When I go to a game it costs me over £80 in ticket, travel, food and other **** so I at least expect to see a performance that warrents me saying to the wife week in week out that I enjoy it.

Its just ****ing not acceptable anymore for us to accept this garbage.

Even my little 3 year old girl is starting to take the piss out of how **** we have become.

Meh rant over I am hung over but come on who gave this article one star for stating the ****ing obvious..... TOOLS!

Don't worry about the star rating, it's not really important is it? I've given you 5* by the way to brighten your day... ****, shouldn't have said Brighten <wah>

Horrid game but kind of what I was hoping for to be honest. Clean sheet was my biggest hope and having a base to build from. Santon and Debuchy need to learn the basics of a back 4 though. At no time should both your full backs be past the half way line at the same time. That aside it was a solid start from the new man.

As a normal practice I would completely agree with you, however when you've got the comfort of having Usain Willamson and Franz Perchenbauer covering behind you, the fullbacks being so adventurous ceases to be an issue.

    <laugh>

I thought I was watching the under 10's in that first half when they both in the last third, while Norwich were 4 on 2. As you say, fortunately Perchenbauer was there to bail them out.

Pardew should go back to the tactics of the good old days( or not as the case may be )

I remember when I was at school playing for the under 11's as left half, our football master(as they were then) was always drilling in to us that both full backs, left half, right half and centre half should never go across the half way line, the ball had to be kicked as hard as you can up field and let the wingers, inside right, inside left and centre forward sort it out.

I remember once playing in a cup match, picking the ball up in our half, surging forward, trying to kick it as hard as I could(following instructions), however because it was wet and the dubbin had worn of the ball plus the fact I only had little skinny legs, it never went more than 5 yards in front of me.

I kept on doing this unchallenged until I arrived inside their penalty box, summoning up one last monumental effort I let fly, the ball to my amazement went in the air and flew over 3' 8" keeper and into the back of the net. This piece of sublime individual brilliance won us the game, got me an extra biscuit and orange juice after the match from me Mam and dropped for the next match from our Allardycesque twat of a football teacher for disobeying orders.

That said we won the league and the Cup that season, I therefore feel that obviously Mr. Duffy was absolutely correct and Ashley should see if he spawned any sons and if so appoint one of them in place of Pardew immediately.
