We've missed Cabaye

Imo Last season we were fortunate to have Cabaye fit for most of the season, along with Ben Arfa. Therefore, players such as Tiote were free to play their own natural game, win the ball and pass it sideways 5/10/15 yards etc and pick out Cabaye who had the ability to pick out players such as Cisse, Ba and Ben Arfa. Due to this, we created a lot more chances for Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa and as such scored more goals. However, without Cabaye we haven't had this creative ability. Anita and Tiote are great players but they don't have the ability to thread a through ball or pick out a pass like Cabaye does. Instead, the only thing we can do is play long ball football which doesn't suit Cisse in the slightest. Unfortunately because we're creating less we're under more pressure defensively and have been conceding more. With Cabaye back, Ben Arfa back shortly and the fact we have two defenders (Santon and Debuchy) who can put balls in gives me the faith that we will start creating some more chances and scoring more.HTL

 

Yes we have and it's going to take weeks for them to get up to speed you know.

 

Good to have him back but he's only one player and he's going to be a bit rusty after being out. More players in the team have to up their game but I'm not holding my breath.

I think we have missed Cabaye, but not only that, the Cabaye of last year has been missed even when an imposter has played this season. He's just one of the players who I think haven't been anywhere near previous form. It's great he's back, hopefully he can be the player he was last season ASAP. He links up the play, but he provides more than that! He runs his heart out, which is vital because when there's two CMs running serious distances we can play fewer in the middle and have an extra attacking option, a useful tactical advantage we made full use out of last season. Jonas fulfills a similar role (expect he's not creative, he just lets the fullback get forward more, hence why he always plays no matter how terrible his passing/crossing is), but to improve it would be useful if we could get a creative winger who also runs a fair way.

 

I think Cabaye missed Debuchy but now they're reunited and their love story will bloom thus improving their mood and therefore their performances and everything will be well! Yes?

Massive miss as our best passer of the ball in the squad. Also with Cheik to come back and Anita/Perch available he shouldn't have to play so deep like earlier in the season. He looked poor there.

 

Cabaye seems to have missed us as much as we've missed him. He really is a fans favourite.

 

Somebody got a treasured souvenir as he threw his top into the crowd.

 

As long as its not goodbye He'll be a big bonus if we can keep him fit and get him up to speed, I hope the fans are going to be patient with him and remember how long he's been out.

 

You could tell as soon as he got his first touch of the ball that he hasn't lost anything.

Actually his passing was slightly off as it was the last time came back from injury. I'm not saying he is not class, however having had injuries myself I know full well it takes a while to get back to your best at any level.
