Colback perhaps, playing their before on his youth but deffo not gardner, I prefer him in the middle and Bards said a few months ago that that where he wants to play, not RB or RM

I like Gardner in MF as well. We get a decent number of goals out of him and I'd keep his RB role as a back-up.

They played like natural defenders today, and i would leave them there for a couple of weeks.

Colback should play left back or not at all, easily his best position.

I honestly believe that Colback is outstanding at leftback. No matter what winger he comes up against, he forces them to pass the ball...or lose it. I can't remember anyone actually taking the ball past him...he's that good.

As long as Gardner is in the side I am happy but I think he is better in the middle, made he could be a good partner with big Alf.

The best skill Craig Gardner has is his 'beast' of a shot. IMHO he is not a natural RB, he cannot
Tackle that well nor overlap and deliver a cross. Nor is he a midfielder in the Vaughan mould, but he does score goals. It may be therefore that RB is his best position cos he can still take free kicks and occasionally loose his thunderbolts.

As for Jack IMHO he is not good enough as a CM, as a LB? Rose shows how it should be done, butnhe is a not too bad defensive CM so on the bench a squad player not an automatic start.

If Bardsley is not going to be ready to come back anytime soon, then we need a new RB brought in. Gardener does well there but its not his position and we would be better having him in the middle with that goal threat.

As for Colback, I've never seen him as a full back but after today, where he was awesome, I could yet be convinced as he really was superb. However, he isnt as good as say Danny Rose there and that's the dilemma for both him and Martin.

Rose is a Spurs player though. More than happy with Colback there.

So you think Colback is better than Rose?

We have an excellent chance to buy this lad in the summer imo and all the current he wont be sold ****e coming from Spurs is a smokescreen to get more money. Rose wants to come here and we want to buy him. Those 2 things usually end up with one outcome mate.

With Welbeck he never wanted to be here as he was a Utd fan and wanted that opportunity.

I would keep Gardner at RB. I think he is very solid and also provides an attacking mentality from the defence via the mindset of a player who is able to pick a pass as opposed to hoofball.

If N'diaye commands a start, we then have Cattermole and Vaughan in the middle too. I would like to see Vaughan and N'diaye in the middle.

Not saying Colback is better than Rose just saying Rose is not our player and Spurs are not keen to sell him. Would happily have Colback at left back for now.
