As shown today, we have not got anything up front to shout about. Tarbs is an attacking midfielder, not a striker. It's goals and wins we need. Defence and midfield sorting itself out.
Yeah today's match wasn't made for Cisse or DJ, we'd loose by a large margin. 3 DM, 2 hard working wingers and Adel to hold the ball
For a moment, it looked as if Cissé was coming on for the last 10 mins - not much time though to settle into the game. What is it with Mbia with that ridiculous rolling around on the ground?
Tactical set-up today, worked a treat. Would you rather attack with lame strikers and lose 5-0?... Harry will bring in strikers to supplement the tactics against lesser teams, that's where we may just get enough points to pull it off...
I'll tell you what was great. For once we could see the team setup and the players looked comfortable with it and worked their socks off for each other. There have been many times this season where I had no idea of our setup with the players looking lost and forlorn. Massive improvement in recent weeks. Will bet that west ham won't bully us next week.
swp was useless again. he had our best chances and didn't trouble the keeper with any of them. I'm glad I didn't get a tattoo of him now!
Very very harsh. Yes he made a hash of it in the box but you can't discount his outfield play. He did some great stuff out the park with Taarabt.
He wasn't useless. One of his chances was deflected past the post. Yes he needs to do better when shooting but his overall play was ok. As to the original post, as was said we were set up specifically to do a job of stopping Spurs over run us. If we'd taken off a midfielder for a striker that would have left an already dangerous team even more room. If we'd have played Tarbs in Midfield and started with a 'proper' striker maybe we could have stolen a goal but the risk is then having a more attacking midfielder that won't get back as often as the others did. Park may have played bad (in some peoples opinions) but he still occupied one of their players and tried to hustle and harry them. The set up was sound for today.
You were clearly not at the game inked. He totally won the crowd over with his effort and quite a lot of classy touches. Yes he missed our best chances but he got himself into positions to get those chances in the first place.
This is the first time that you have written complete bollocks, Inke. If he had scored in the first half when he was very unlucky not to, he would have been MOTM.
Absolutely. I was there and he was a different player today. Some of the little pieces of skill that have been absent, were sublime. The way he beat Kyle Walker just down from us in front of us was superb. Dare I say it, he beat players that he wouldn't have done so earlier in the season.
Ain't that just the truth. We look like like a half decent team finally, a team in which the players know what they have to do and enjoy doing it. Is a Harry a genius or was Hughes a total idiot? Hopefully the former.
enlighten me, strikers score right? he gets one on at target against Chelsea and everything's forgiven?? bullshit! he made a few good twists and turns.. big deal! I still wouldn't play him if we only had 10 fit players!
He earned the right to stay on the pitch today. He worked hard. He created chances. Looked a different player. But we're all entitled to our opinions. Mine's only based on what I saw today.
