Its no bull kidda they were an item at the time and after. They were both photgraphed hand in hand in Birmigham hotel he had press conference in and its an absolute fact he was poking slack knickers at the time. What is not certain is how much this affected the once water tight Bruce/Bent relationship but he was sold at a very, very quick pace for me and Bent never looked like it was a deal he had his heart in. In fact and I commented at the time, he looked shifty and ill at ease alongside Houllier that night and not like a player that had just made the move of his life. I hold Bruce very much to blame for the likes of Gyan, Bent, Mensah and Cana all coming in and wanting to feck off sharpish and for Sessegnons demeanour up to and shortly after his sacking. I do think he was the spanner in the works personally.
That's fair enough Cest.I wasn't aware of any "public appearances" so I bow to that. As said the night he was sold, I was sat at the next table when a Mag colleague told me he was going.Took the opportunity to speak to SB (in the toilet believe it or not)and he said it was all about money. Also spoke (and passed by) to DB many times at work and never wittnessed them together (which doesn't say a lot) he used the facilities almost daily. Gym, restaurant, bar. Just think at some point would have noticed.
There were pictures in the daily newpapers at the time as well. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/227570/Darren-Bent-s-dates-with-daughter-of-Steve-Bruce http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/not...arren-Bent-dates-daughter-of-Steve-Bruce.html
Just call it intuition if you may, but something tells me that you are not to keen on us signing Danny Graham...
I've been saying this ever since Bent was sold. The other reason was ofcourse the fact that we were offered £24 million for his services. It had nothing to do with Bent engineering a move away from SAFC. As I've always said, if Villa knew Bent wanted away, they would have been able to force a sale at a much more suitable price. However they didn't and went onto pay top sterling. That in itself is enough to read between the lines and be close to the truth.
Ellis Short does not want Darren Bent back at Sunderland, he let Bruce down, he let Quinn down and he let the supporters down. He could have chose any female yet he did the most unprofessional thing and dated the managers daughter to engineer his transfer - he knew Bruce would not approve yet persisted with the affair. Are they still together by the way??
How do you come to the conclusion that Bent had foreknowledge that Bruce would disapprove of him dating his daughter and that his action of dating his daughter would be the catalyst for a transfer? Bent must be very clever... Maybe he can post next weeks lottery numbers up here... What would have happend if Bruce had approved of the relationship? The 24 mil put down on the plate had nowt to do with it? Bent was forced out of the club and the media savvy propaganda merchants within the club delivered a crock a ****e that most of the fans lapped up hook, line and sinker.... I must admit, I've heard some interesting theories in my time, but Bent shagging Amy as a method to obtain a transfer?
i just do not believe Bent's departure was to do with amy Bruce. it's ridiculous believing that the defunct NEws of the Truth and Express reports suggesting the departure were down to him having a relationship with the boss's daughter. if that was the case, then why did he (Bruce) re-sign Nicklas Bentdner? ....who'd been a twat to his daughter when at Wigan......http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/arsenals-nicklas-bendtner-dumps-wigan-656885 Bent went for money, fame and English football and ****ed it up.......he should not be back here.
How do you know that Ellis Short doesn't want him back at the club? Also like mentioned already, how do you know he only got with her to get away from the club?
You are all looking at it from a 'can we forgive' perspective and forgetting the fact that he seems to get a lot of injuries since he went to Villa. Do we need an expensive crock?
Big fat NO lads let him rot at Villa his choice in the end he only had to say no to them and stay with us simple. As poolie says though if he did come or Graham for that matter they would be sat on the bench for 90% of the time unless Fletcher was crocked. Think the Graham thing smacks of the Grant Holt saga where he was coming to us then he wasn't then all of a sudden Norwich gave in to his demands, Graham is no better than what we have and no different.
I would let his football career rot away in Villa reserves. No way will ES ever sanction a move for him IMO
This. Whatever the debate we may have, can anyone really see our tough talking Texan allowing this player to orchestrate a move back here, whatever the circumstances of his leaving really were? Not a hope in hells.
