I'd go for WW2 era and join up to be an SOE agent (or maybe a Spitfire pilot).

    What would you choose?

Can we be in different places aswell? For example if you wanted to be in the year 0 for the possible birth of Jesus, and were stuck in Newcastle wondering why Blakelaw has changed at all, it would be a waste if time travel!

I'd live in the Roman Empire in the peak of it's existence. If the Roman Empire had have stayed functional, we'd most likely be far more technologically advanced than we are now.

The Romans introduced proper laws and civilization. They had hot bath houses and even central heating ffs.

When the Roman Empire collapsed, we took a massive step down in advancement. A better time to have lived would have been 2000 as a Roman Citizen, rather than 1900 years after this time.

Up until the last 50 years ago, it wasn't uncommon for a man to die around age 50. All my grandads died around this age, and before I was even born.

We've come a long way in the last 100 years or so. If you were just a normal pleb, the best standard of living you could have got before the last 100 years or so is back in the Roman era.

I'm not going to bite :wink:

I do think the Roman Republic era would be more to your liking though Tash, you'd make a fine orator on race-relations and such! Also, less tyranny, plagues, and there's only the odd economic crisis...

I'd chose the advent of the Neolithic, just to see why the feck they decided to give up hunter-gathering to breed domestic animals and til the land... Yet to see a viable academic reason I agree with!

OK but apart from all that, what have the Romans ever done for us?

Are we restricted to only one period of time, or can we time hop?
