I suspect that maybe all the rumour milling surrounding Hooper may be a deliberate smoke screen from the club to cover up the signature of someone else completely under the radar
More on the Hooper link, but can anybody spot the utterly hilarious mistake in the article http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/01/11/pair-linked-with-norwich-city-moves/?
As if the rumour mill is not chaotic enough without crap publications not even bothering to proof-read their stuff to ascertain it makes a bit of sense

Uruguayan player of the year the last 7 years. Either Uruguay hate Suarez as much as we do, or this guy might actually be pretty good. A loan with a view to a permanent move looks to have worked for Garrido, so more of the same would be nice.
Seems a bit part player, 39 appearances (32 as sub) since he signed in 2010 scoring 12 goals. 27 is a good age, and probably be an improvement on the squad or even first team depending where he would be played. As all other rumours I expect nothing to come of it!
I think the Hooper rumour can be put to bed, hes been out in Spain since he was in dubai so we haven't held talks with him and will be very suprised if we do.
A mate of mine is a Watford supporter (now 6th in the Championship) and raves about Matej Vydra, a Czech striker on loan from Udinese Calcio. Only 20/21 years old, 5ft 10ins and 11st 10lb. Very quick and strong. He has been mentioned on these boards before, but not sure if any detail was given. Has scored 14 goals this season. Likes to run at defences on the break. Not sure if he is old enough and experienced enough to do a job for us but having watched him on Football League show against Middlesborough he was impressive.
I have mentioned him before, but I know for a fact Udinese do not want to sell. Watford are a growth/reserve side for there team in Italy and the owners have high hopes of vydra.

true, and will be based on what other media have reported. The guardian is a quality broadsheet though so they won't publish bullshit. that said we are more likely to sign glen murray or CMS than hooper IMO.
Exactly, but hughton keeps reiterating that we need to score goals and i think signing someone like that will be a huge risk and probably a wrong choice. Every player is a risk but in all honesty who is more likely to score in the prem... Gary Hooper or Glenn Murray!
i don't think he (hooper) would be a huge risk, a risk yes like any new player coming in be it from the premier league, championship or abroad. who knows, except that the hooper rumour is surely about to displace the ameobi rumour
