    Meh.

    Brilliant in the Championship.
Probably average in the Premier League.

No thanks, unless it's on a free! <ok>

I simply don't feel he'll be a improvement on our current crop.

If its for a million or two then hell yes! Geordie boy, knows where the goal is. I know people will say he is a championship striker, I agree, but a great one and deserves a chance I think, and who better than a Geordie who has wanted nothing more than to play for us(his words).

with the amount of money we have we should be aiming alot higher. At the end of the day even loverkrands and ameobi was bagging them in, in the championship

I agree with the first bit, with the money we supposedly have to spend, we should be aiming higher.

If he's coming in to replace Lovenkrands or Ameobi and for a little amount of money, along with 1 or 2 quality strikers i'd be happy enough with it.

No thanks, he is 25/26 years old and not prolific in the lower leagues - Nicky Maynard however!

    This. <ok>

Release Kuqi. Sell Ameobi/Lover or both & get this guy in with 1/2 quality strikers in as the MAIN MEN(Gamiero/Sow/Ba/etc.).

    NEW ST(QUALITY ONE)
    Best/Graham
Ranger(maybe loan him out if we can..).

Not bad eh? Consedering Pardew looks likely to play with a formation including ONLY ONE FORWARD(Arfa playing the AM role). <ok>

Got released by Middlesbrough, so probably Championship standard, did see him score a hat trick for Carlisle against Yeovil a few years ago. Spoke to a few Boro fans on a facebook group and they said he wasn't good enough for PL.

He left boro ages ago. He's top scorer in the Fizzy Pop League now. How about Long, or Scott Sinclair if Swansea don't get promoted. He's like a cheap mans Gervinho, attacking winger and gets goals.

I know the lad (well know his Mrs), he left Boro becuase he wasn't getting a game and just wanted to play football. He went to Carlisle and did quite well but didn't get on with the manager too well and has done very well at Watford. However with him leaving Boro becuase he wasn't playing football I don't think he would come here to be back up again. Also I don't think he'd cut it in the Premiership, but hopefully his instincts would remain the same infront of goal if we did get him.

On another note...he still has his house near Newcastle, he never sold it and I know his Mrs wants to move back up here...

His goal scoring record is 27 goals in 49 apps. That's great, but it's in the Championship, so you'd expect that tally to drop somewhat when he's up against much tougher opposition in the EPL.

It just depends how much it'll drop by.

Very true but even 15 goals in 40 games would be a cracking return. I'd be happy to see him here, he does look like a natural goalscorer.

Would be average in the Prem. But they set a £2.5million price tag on him, maybe worth a punt as back up.
