ALERT: click here for our Liverpool v Chelsea match thread where we are discussing the Capital One cup match:

    http://www.not606.com/threads/league-cup-semi-final.289393

Only Chelsea can win on away goals.

    Some scenarios from The Liberty:
Any Swans win or a draw - Swans are through
Chelsea win 1-0 - Swans are through
Chelsea win 2-0 - Extra Time. Still 2-0 after extra time (2-2 Agg) Penalties
Chelsea win 3-1 - Extra Time. Still 3-1 after extra time (3-3 Agg) Chelsea are through on away goals
    etc etc!

Grow your fingernails over the next fortnight - because there is no doubt you'll be chewing them on Jan 23rd! <ok>

This is going to be one great rematch. It is going to be fascinating to see how Laudrup plays this. Think all of the experience from all the European two-leg matches he has played in over his career, all being applied in this one match. Who will his midfield be. He's starting to like the Rangel / Tiendalli combination on the right to close things out, but Rangel is potentially pretty lethal going forward and around the oppositions box so it might actually work to play those two from the start.

One thing is for sure, Chelsea have to score two goals as a minimum, which means they have to go for it. This should leave us all sorts of wiggle room to play through them on the break.

JDG was the creator of both goals last night by rapidly closing down the center back (Ivanovic in both cases) on the ball. The only concern I have is Luiz. He was terrific last night, playing in front of a back three. He won everything in the air, was great a tackling our midfield and offensively he is as dangerous a player as they have.

Role on the 23rd, but first let's put Arsenal out of their misery!

I think chelsea will have no choice and will have to go for it and as long as we shut up shop we could get a goal on the break that will kill them off....we will score at some point so im not that worried, a 2 goal cushion especially away from home is a hell of an advantage and the game is ours to lose....we wont though...1-1

Whispering BoB Harris of BBC radio 2 loved the Storeys with Swansea born Steve Balsammo providing the honey coated vocals.
    Very good country/rock/folk band
