No point in having a fixed selling price if the owner was not compelled to sell.

They've not actually done anything wrong yet. They have failed to go out of their way to do things really ambitiously, but they deserve longer than three weeks since the takeover before people say they're 'as bad as Bates'. <doh> Give it more like three months. Frustrating that they've not bought anyone yet, yes, but as long as we get three good signings by the end of January I think we still have a chance, which is incredible considering some of the managerial shortcomings we've witnessed.

We've bought Tonge. I'd say that counts. Under bates that would have never happened.

Erm, didn't we buy Pugh for £500k (I know!) under bates?

'Rising to 500k', just like the takeover fee could rise to 52m. ;)

Based on performances of late I was going to suggest that just maybe GFH feel this season is a lost cause and with Warnock supposedly going at the end of the season maybe GFH don't wish to throw too much money at it. On the other hand performances aside we are just a game away from the play off's.

GFH are not your normal type of owners, they are answerable to far more people, their investors. I would have also felt that although promotion is the key and Warnock has been brought in to secure promotion GFH would not want too many players unable to step up to the plate as a premiership footballer???

I guess it depends on their long term strategy, promotion and sell us as quickly as possible, promotion don't care about surviving in the premiership and cashing in on parachute payments or continued success, I have a feeling the third option isn't their aim.
