People are deluded in thinking that money and being a celebrity doesn't influence a player.

However, I picked a recent post from the mackem bored, that might get interest from you lads

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/189538-Why-we-should-NEVER-sign-Graham

Click the link on the post. Seems like Graham is a proper Geordie, and his dreams seem to be those of a Black n White.

He says he'd stay away from Sunderland as possible.

I'm personally against the signing of this guy as a replacement for Ba, but if he was a 3rd choice that could score goals, surely he could become a cult hero, if not a legend?

Hopefully, he isn't our replacement for Ba, because I don't rate him on the same level, but I'd love him to be part of the squad. He's an all round good striker, and the added passion would drive him to score goals.

I'd love to sign him, as long as we don't equate him to a top quality signing.

I'd love him to sign. A summer forward line on him, Remy, Mandy, Cisse and Shola

I think he's under-rated, playing for Newcastle would spur him on to try harder! If you had the chance to play for the team you loved, you do everything humanly possible to make your self a success, and i believe this lad would! I say get him!

Apparently they tried to sign him from Watford but were only going to offer him 8k per week plus bonuses....he told them to f@ck off and signed for Swansea for 30k per week..gotta be true, my barber told me.

I think most of the lads on the Sunderland board have been quite harsh on him. He's got a pretty respectable goal-scoring ratio from what I can make out, probably equal with that of Fletcher, and he's been playing his football in a team who are technically very proficient players. Seems a shame some of them seem to think "mags fans" would really take their money then not try on purpose, but hey ho...

With the figures I've seen quoted, which have been as high as £10-12 million, he's probably not a worthwhile signing for us and certainly not realistic. If there is a deal to be done, I actually think it could be a smart move and I think he'd be more than a 3rd striker even. Cisse seems to require an effective foil, and Graham is a biggish lad with good touch. Added to that he can play up top by himself comfortably.

I don't see why Swansea would sell him if it isn't for mega-bucks, but I think there'd be a few who'd gamble on an extra few million.

I'd take him for decent price, as long as he's not 1st/2nd choice.

Shola? Shola is the worst player I've ever had to put up with for over ten years mate.

After that we only have cisse and if he gets injured we are soooo in trouble.

Graham worth £10-£12 million, someone's having a laugh and despite him loving the Toon it's a definite non starter.

Lads on the swansea board seem to be concluding that Martin O'Neill is confident of his signature. Clearly hasn't gone down well on the Sunderland board! Would anybody take a Sunderland supporter as a player for us?

Difficult question to answer because there haven't been too many good mackems... Wouldn't boo any Newcastle player because of their upbringing and boyhood tendencies... We all grow-up at some point! Obviously if they did a SC or a Chopra it might change my view <laugh>
